Get ready for the price buster challenge.

You get alot of these price comparison features on the tv so i thought it would be interested to try it out on here.

So here is some homework for you all.

Your mission is to find the cheapest and the most expensive prices of some of the most commonly used wam products. Remember to state where you spotted them.

BEANS - Standard tin
CUSTARD - Standard tin - any flavor
RICE PUDDING - Standard tin
SPAGHETTI - Standard tin
SOUP - Standard tin - any variety - eg mushroom, tomato etc

So next time your out, remember to look at them price tags.

Please add anything else you think is necessary for the list.

Good luck

J

Only wimps buy custard in tins!

The one litre carton is much better. Well, the one gallon bucket is even better but that doesn't appear so much as Tescos.

I'm sure Kwik Save must thrash all of those prices. Kwik Save was the supermarket of choice when I was a student - Tesco was for posh kids. Sainsburies was for show offs, or people who'd just received their grant.

Sainsburys Basic range is good

And with God as my witness I AM THAT WIMP !!
Yep i`m the guy every week at Morrisons with a dozern or so tins of the yella stuff in the trolley  But in my defence i dont have a website to run or an arrangement of lovely London gals, Mag editors, & cute busty Irish lasses to coat in the Amber necter. So i stock pile it along with our other fave ingredient shaving foam, then every few months or so just have a real good Splosh session.
Inbetween the big ones we do fool around a LOT though few pies here & there the odd few tins of beans.........You know how it is.

I used to buy the cheap cans of custard, but then discovered that a) Tesco have a "no more than 10 of the same "Value" items in one purchase, and b) when you factor in the time it takes to open all those tins, the 1l cartons are actually cheaper from a resourcing POV. The cartons also look nicer if you're shooting pics / video.

For most expensive, try Amazon Grocery. They sent me an email promoting that recently. I imagine the freight from the US to New Zealand would make it rather expensive! Especially the frozen stuff...

The Tesco litre cartons not being "value" can be bought in huge quantities - we bought 120 once! And they are currently 74p each! The consistency is better than the tins too.

Now that is mad as cheese Bill. 120 at once, you make my stuff for a messy shoot go to shame.

Hello.

Hello, is that the bank?

I'd like to take out a loan to buy as much gunge as Bill.

Why has it gone quiet at the other end.
