When James says it's a sad end to what the group had, I don't think he's referring to Bobby coming as Laura. Nobody said 'you can't play with us because you don't wear what we say'. Nobody laid down any rules. I don't know why people keep suggesting that.
I think James made the 'sad end' comment in relation to the fact that the whole of the UK's WAM community seems to be split down the middle and fighting about it.
And that IS sad indeed, because I wouldn't be surprised if Easy As turns around and says 'Fuck it. Trying to keep everyone happy is more hassle than it's worth'.
Easy As isn't the villain some people are making him out to be. Anyone who's met him will confirm he's one of the friendliest, funniest and most helpful people on this or the UMD forum.
It's been suggested several times here and on UMD ... if the problem can't be solved in a way that keeps everyone happy, then the solution would seem to be 2 meetings - one for the flamboyant, confident, who-gives-a-shit crowd ... and one for those who want to meet and chat in a low-key get together which other pub-goers will see as nothing more than a group of friends out for a pint.

ps - at leasts it's nice to see that each person adding to the thread expresses their views without resorting to flaming and insults.

I really think this thread has gone far enough. Everyone has had a chance to comment and there is a danger that the arguments will go round and round getting more and more aggitated. Consequently, tomorrow morning this thread will be locked.
Welcome along to the the forum, Laura, and please don't let this thread colour your judgment of what this place is about. It only started through an overspill from you-know-where. I think you'll find it is a lot more fun than this...
As for the "sad end" of the UMD Meets then I hope that is melodramatic nonsense. To stop something which has proved popular in the past and should be even more popular in the future through one disagreement would be very silly and harming a lot of people who a) don't care about this particular debate and b) have no other way of meeting other sploshers.
So tear yourselves apart for one more night, guys, then it's shut!
Seriously, hold the meetings together - and when it comes don't waste it arguing about this. There's pies, mud, custard and cleavages to chat about...

the whole point of me posting the pm message to the open thread is cos i do give a shit, i found out that some people are uncomftorble with me as laura and wanted to get an idea of how many of those comming are feeling that way
i'm not going to hate people for feeling like that, i do understand.
hell i dont even know who is comming , but i do know of three people who have said they would like to meet me at the meet and aint bothered how i come.
if it wasnt for the fact that i want to meet all you wammers then i wouldnt come at all
i still might not come depending on how many fors and againsts
just an observation , but wouldnt a nervous newbie feel more happy if there was some one like me drawing all the heat of them??
anyway if i do come i'll be out the way of the main group or ask if i can join you guys
at least now i know if there was any trouble no ones got my back

Hi Bobby
Bill said he'll close this thread off soon.
You said nobody's yet come forward and expressed their discomfort.
So, here goes. My head on the chopping block.
I've been to two meetings with you, and on the second one you made me feel very uncomfortable.
It wasn't to do with the fact that you were dressed as a woman the second time. It was more to do with the dramatic change of personality that came with that.
At the first meeting you were a bubbily guy who really lifted the mood of the event. You had tons of questions and you wanted to make friends with everyone. Great. That was great.
At the second meeting, when you were Laura, you weren't just a different person in appearance. You became very loud. I was sitting four or five people away from you, but I could here you virtually shouting at the top of your voice about pouring food into your underwear and discussing messy fantasies ... stuff like that.
And it made me uncomfortable.
There's a reason why Easy As doesn't sit in the corner of the pub with a big sign saying "Messy Fetishists This Way Please'. There's a reason why the group photos from the meets are posted with everyone's faces blanked out.
It's because the people attending want to meet like-minded people in a low-key situation. They don't want their private fetish broadcast to anyone in earshot.
People like yourself, Bill Shipton and Mercedes have total peace of mind with your fetishes. You are very fortunate to have that attitude that people who don't accept your unusual turn-ons can go fuck themselves.
But the majority of wammers are shy about it. That's why they post on here using nicknames, rather than their real life names.
I'm sure the people at the meet would be happier for you to attend in drag if you'd be willing to tone it down a bit, rather than announcing to all and sundry that we're a bunch of weirdo fetishists.
There you go - that's my honest thoughts.

My honest thoughts are, Phantom, that you should never have posted this here in the first place. The meet has nothing to do with people here other than the fact that some of us go to the meets.
You should have praised GS in email.
This has done nothing but upset people. It's unfortunate that for whatever reason you can't post your opinions on UMD, but I really don't think they're needed here, with all due respect.
It's too stressful for a forum intended to be lighthearted. I knew more or less what James meant, but I had other opinions to express.
I don't even know Bobby. I'm just speaking from the heart. [/b]

this has gone way to far and in danger of any further meets i was hoping to make a meet at somepoint but with all this arguing i wont bother
end of the day we all like the same fetish personaly i dont care if some people want to come out dressed as a woman if thats wot they like and cumfatuble with it then thats fine with me
all the hard work to get these meets up and running is in danger of being ruiend by a petty argument

I have kept out of the comments on this thread so far as i have posted my views elsewhere where it all started. However i must say that i am bitterly dissappointed by the complete absence of any input from who i consider the instigator of all this.
As Mercedes so aptly put on her comments if this person and she has been named on this thread had a problem why not pm the people privatly in the first place instead of going to an organiser of the meets.Everything else she stated i can confirm is correct.
To my knowledge she has never even met Bobby/Laura so how can she judge, and so far as what Mercedes wears that has nothing to do with her at all. I have seen, in fact have copies she sent me of emails from people present at the meet expressing their thanks etc for her attending and how good she looked.
What you see with both myself and Mercedes is what you get. I speak my own mind and yes its got me into trouble over the years. BUT at least i can hold my head up and say what i feel, openly and not behind peoples backs or get other people to do my dirty work for me.
For reasons most of you know anyway neither of us could now attend this event anyway which we were both looking forward to.
I have great respect for easy_as and others who organise these meets having met them quite a few times now.
It seems such a shame to me they are being pilloried as if it is their fault, DD amongst others has come up with some good suggestions, i basically agree with a poster on another forum who stated he is pondering wether this person is as comfortable with wam and meets as she may think.
I for one will not be going to any further meets which may be arranged in the future as i cannot abide hyprocosy
And for the record i have no problem whatsoever what Bobby/Laura wears or when.
Phantom: Had to laugh at your comment about blanking faces. We do show faces now there is a picture on these forums somewhere of a group photo after the last meet.Ans Mercedes in that dress.

Yeah, this was meant to be private.
Yeah it's all been blown out of proportion. But a sad end to what the "group had" .... that's a bit of an exaggeration.
*paints a rainbow and requests that everyone join hands and realise that we're all the same under the fucking sun*
"Oh! Come on you people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now"
My last and absolutlely final comment on the matter is this:-
Yes, this is why it was meant to be private. To avoid the fracturing of a group of people who actually get on really very well.
Therein lies the sadness.
The group in question are not elite, they are regulars who are there and by that same token, help to make new people feel welcome, as you yourself experienced.
I would like to think I am like a ' meeter and greeter ', without wishing to take on airs and graces for myself. But in reality all the regulars do this.
Personally, I am not sure about this being the actual end of anything . . . .
. . . . but it has caused, as has been mentioned, a certain amount of unhelpful tension in the atmosphere which I truly hope has dissipated by the time of the meet.
I hope everyone is glad that this subject raised it's head in this way and is pleased with the result.
Now, perhaps we can just get on with the business of attending the meet ?
Good.
See you all there on the 28th . . . . . you know when and you know where.
PS
Dids, I would just like to say that the person you are referring should not be singled out. Please don't take this the wrong way.
If there is any flak to be collected, please send it my way and I'll take the heat, that goes for anyone who wants to PM me.
Thanks.
See you on the 28th . . . . .
Who ate all the pies ? What a waste of pie !
ok, i know that there will be some people feeling uncomftorble me being there, unfortunatly i can only come as laura that night, so will be discrete if i do come.
too right, who's comming anyway?
or maybe we should start a nice new thread for the meet up Easy-as?,
