R.I.P Bill Shipton

Chat, flirt and fantasise about everything wet and messy

I've been travelling with work this week and while I saw the sad news posted in the Tiswas Facebook group I've not had time to post my thoughts on the subject until now.

Like many others I thought I was alone in my fascination with all things wet and messy. It wasn't until I saw a piece in the Sunday Sport newspaper in the early 90's, long before the advent of the internet, that I realised there were others out there with the same interest as me. That was my introduction to Bill and his work in this area and was the first time I became aware of the term 'sploshing'. Since then I have taken an active interest, taking part in sessions with like-minded people and as a participant on any online messy site, forum etc. I attribute this to Bill without whom I would have felt isolated and weird in my desires, his support and publicity of this fetish made it seem more mainstream even though it is a little peculiar ;)

I'm sure the community that he did so much to establish will continue to go from strength to strength and will be a major part of his legacy. I never had the pleasure of meeting Bill but suspect if I had we would have got on very well from what I've heard and read about his personality and sense of humour.

Characters of his ilk are few and far between these days and are almost a dying breed so he is not only a loss to this community but also to classic British humour. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to all those who met or knew Bill, not least his closest family and friends at this sad time.
Let me have it !

Thank you for posting her comments, Andy.

What a gentle and funny soul.

He was actually younger than I (and much younger than Mrs. B).

I miss that man.

Can only add my deepest sorrow for such sad news, some things just don't seem right Bill/Clive's passing being one of them, the most unassuming, non judgemental person I ever had the pleasure of knowing, albeit not as well as I would have liked a true inspiration to so many of us.

Very sad news. I thought he had got the all clear after scans so now totally shocked.

From the Splosh Mag to the download always loved Bill's interpretation of the scene.

Hope his legacy lives on.

I've not been on this site for awhile, so like others I was saddened by this news. I never met Bill but through the Splosh magazines and this site, I was inspired to try knew things that I found I liked.

I can't help smiling to myself though, when I think that whatever afterlife Bill has gone to, its probably just got a lot more messy!!!!!!

I was on vacation and read the information just a minute ago.
Bill: Many many thanks for your outstanding work. Without your famous "Splosh!" magazine that I found by accident in a Sex-Shop in the 90 ´th I would never
explored the messy wet world like I did and would not learned all the englisch words around sploshing so easy ;-)
So R.I.P and again 1000 thanks.

Very shocked to suddenly find out about Bill.

I feel as if I knew him, though I've never met him. Splosh Magazine and the videos were so important to me, back in those days when Bill and Splosh were an oasis in a sploshing desert.

He will be sorely missed.
