I, too, met Bill last year at the Birmingham splunch and I found him such an easy person to talk to. Such a nice man!

I have only just read the sad news now and I am as shocked as everyone. I am speechless but can only really say the same as everyone here. Without Bill, most of us would never have met through the many gatherings that have taken place in the last few years.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends and that he may rest in peace. He will be missed.

That's a complete shock, very, very sad. I'd gathered that Bill had not had the best of health for a long time, but never expected this news.

I'd only had brief contact with Bill through the site, mainly when I had trouble with a Splosh download, but he was totally patient in sorting out my computer incompetence.

A thoroughly decent guy, if there were more like him the world would be a better place.

This is shattering news. i only met him for the first time a few weeks ago. He told me then how relieved he was that his spell of ill health seemed to be coming to an end; and now this. Truley unbelievable. The world has lost one of it's unique spirits. Rest in peace indeed.

With the above posts it just shows how much of an influence Bill was to people. His sad passing is a big loss to the entire community but an even greater one to family and friends.

Then, there was Bill Shipton.

The wammer's loyal friend to the end - Splosh! personified.

I never met him in person but I'm grateful that I did once take the opportunity to thank him.

Just found out about Bill today and am very sad to hear the news of his passing. Although we never met we chatted a lot on fetlife and facebook and were in the process of planning some DID sploshing shoots sadly never to be.

Shocked, saddened and gutted to hear of the passing of the Governor. Never got the chance to meet him, though a visit was being planned, sadly never to be. My hearts and thoughts go out to all his family and friends, including, of course his Splosh family. I take it, the wake will be held at The Fat Fuck Restaurant?! God bless you Bill.
