hi all

Can anyone recommend the best supermarket/shop cakes that are the messiest/gooiest for cake sitting please?

Thanks

Also, what are the best toppings for flan bases? Looking for a variety of cheap mess!

I'd recommend using 'angel delight' style pudding for flans. You can get some good bargains if you use the no frills stuff or use approvedfood.co.uk (who currently have strawberry at 10 packets for £1 & vanilla at 8 packets £1) who have good deals on, although they tend to be either short dated or out of date.

Consider a cheesecake, most supermarkets have own brand for around £1, make sure its defrosted 1st though!

If you don't mind brown (some object!), Tesco do some nice squishy chocolate gateaux at a reasonable price (once you've got them out of the container!
