Anyone recall the blue peter episode where John shows us how to make pantomime pies.... circa 1970's???

Ends with the guest pieing John, John pieing the guest then Val pieing Peter. Val gets away pie free unfortunately. Love to see the clip...

I don't recall that episode but I do recall one in around 1979 when the irritating Simon Groom and Chris Wenner made pies and pied each other. Lesley Judd then goes to talk to camera and the lads creep up and sandwich her face between two pies. Loved that one. Also be interested to see it.

John Noakes was a bit of splosh hero of mine - always falling into water or mud and getting repeatedly pied on All Star Record Breakers.

I'm old enough to remember the original. They had the props man from Crackerjack on describing the best way to make custard pies, explaining they had to have 'stay power and spray power'. The fact that I remember it shows what an effect it had on me as a youth! Don't recall the Leslie Judd one sadly.

I saw the Lesley Judd one. I was quite young and still not a fully blown WAM fan.

As I recall, Lesley pied one of the guys first. He tried to take revenge, but she ducked and the other guy received the pie instead. Then - as mentioned - the two of them gave her a pie sandwich. I seem to remember her complaining that the shaving foam had gone up her nose.

Anyone remember John Noakes going canal jumping in Holland in a white pair of speedos which went 'see through' the first time they got wet? :)

I've not heard of those two clips, being slightly too young ;)

I do remember a clip tho I think it was either Janet Ellis or Sarah Greene with Simon Groom and possibly Peter Duncan, doing a silent movie skit, where Greene/Ellis is a dining table in evening wear and Groom is the butler, who keeps getting the large pies/cakes in his face from the heroine, I can not remember if she gets away scot free or not.

Also a few years later for the 1st comic relief they had Tony Robinson as Baldrick flanning himself after showing the viewers how to make a custard pie, again I can not remember if any of the others got pied or not.

I can remember Janet Ellis (I think) doing a mud run once...

My earliest memory of a female presenter is Tina Heath (just) :D

Janet Ellis's (female) cousin worked as a receptionist at Mayfair magazine briefly! They looked quite alike and had a similar voice. Just saying.
