As someone brought up quite near the Thames at Staines who swam in it many times, fully clothed with a girlfriend on one occasion for a bet, everyone knew about the dangers but swimming near the bank was positively encouraged! This is far too big a coincidence for me.
Looks like David Walliams finished just in time!

I suspect it's because they've found they can't throw enough charges at the muppet who disrupted the boat race, so they want to be able to discourage anyone from trying something similar.
And unfortunately I won't be at this meet, even though it's my 'local' one, since I'm double-booked... Luckily it's a party, not work, for once!

small but nice turn out, had a nice time, me and mordicus headed towards marble arch and it started to rain quite heavy which was nice, jumped in some puddles with a couple of festival goers then went neck deep in marble arch fountain, just in time to catch the last tube,

Great to meet all the folks on Saturday, faces both old and new. Many thanks to Smiley for organising again.

Hello
Sorry for the late reply, but could not get the scanner working for the card so took a photo instead.
I would like to thanks everyone who come along, it was a great day. Thanks to Mike and my other half and all the other regulars to help make some of the new guys feel welcome.
Lots of food eaten and lots of drink drunk as always. Plenty of conversation and fun.
Here is the list on who come.
Smiley
Wam In Bed
London Wammer
Mike Nomic
Falkor
Mango Chutney
Messy Laura
Mordicus
Ian ec gunge
Eggy Dan
Wellpied
Sploshman
A random french guy (who later realised he had the wrong group!)
There was also a french connections group going on around half seven so we had plenty of greetings from lots of french people upon them entering the pub before we pointed to the french table!. I suppose it did not help that Messy Laura had a bit of a french dress look. All good fun.
Next winter spluch in November (date to be announced soon). Then again next July.
I will see any of you who are going in Bristol.
