Flicking through some Splosh! back issues I got as part of Bill's storeroom clearout I rediscovered the 'Keystone Kapers' photoset in Splosh! issue #23 featuring the simply awesome Emma.
The set finished with the tantalising line 'to be continued...' and I was just wondering ;
a) if the set was ever continued... I don't remember it being continued in subsequent issues of the magazine
b) if there is a colour version of this photoshoot lurking in the Splosh! storeroom somewhere?
I'm moving house in a few months so I'm having a big clear out which includes scanning all my Splosh! back issues as it is far easier to move an external hard drive packed with messy pictures than move actual magazines! When I've finished scanning, I will have issues 12-40 scanned in glorious 400dpi de-screened detail (except issue #25 which seems to be super rare)! Here's a small version of one of the pictures from the Keystone Kapers set.
(I've added a website caption to the picture. Let me know if you want me to remove this picture Bill.)
I would love to see more of this set if it still exists somewhere!

Ooh, yes, I'd love to see any unseen Emma material if it exists. She was my favourite Splosh model of that period.

Well, surprise, surprise, the Keystone Kapers photoset marked "to be continued" in No 23 did continue...in No 24. A shot from the 2nd half is attached.
The set was shot in black and white (it's meant to be a silent film remember!) and was taken by David Glew who was an excellent b/w photographer.
Bill
PS No 25 is not super rare. We have a few and can sell you one full price. We just can't sell them cheap.
Both Splosh! No 23 and 24 are still available in our sale - though not for much longer. Prices will rise in a couple of weeks so get in quick if you want them.

problem #382 of posting on a public forum after a few drinks....the absence of basic research
yes, a simple look at my 'episode #24' scans folder would have revealed that, indeed, the keystone kapers set was continued in the issue following #23........#24 to be exact...
What amazes me to this day (besides how AWESOME Emma was as a Splosh! model) is that in the space of only a handful of years we have gone from black and white film photography (which I guess, even in the 1990s was still in the minority) to hi resolution digital colour photography. We have witnessed a technological revolution, on the same scale of the industrial revolution... I mean ... when did you last walk into a bank branch, or buy a CD, or write a hand written letter....!?
My wish... if only there could have been a like-minded time traveler with a basic DSLR and a HD camcorder at some of Emma's photo-shoots..... I can dream....!
