As a young lad many moons ago i hired from the local video outlet a video of a mud wrestling contest held i what seemed to be held in a pub or a club, first time i'd ever seen wrestling and found it very exciting,i think it was made during the 80's and by Strand films i know this is a wild shot in the dark but would love to see it again if possible if anyone know of it i would love to know,,,, many thanks Russki

If it was called Maidens of Mud, it was shot above the Half Moon pub in Putney - and has a young me doing the commentary!

Bill

PS I may have a copy somewhere. If it is that one, the guy who made it left the UK to become an ambulance chasing lawyer!

russki - that sounds familiar to a video i had around that time, it was called Stag Show Girls and i recollect it was filmed in some location in Devon [Exeter/ Torquay?] .... this link is the best i can do to find it

http://strangethingsarehappening.com/stagshowgirls.html

like yourself, i would love to see any of the footage again if it was available. i remember the bouts were arranged with 'models', but there was an excellent round where a woman from the audience got involved ... and from the way she didn't want to get muddy, she looked genuine and not a 'prop' .... i can still see the image now!! :D

Ah yes. We used to sell it but the suppliers went out of business. Didn't mean to give Maidens of Mud a gratuitous plug as frankly it wasn't that good.
