Sorry 'bout short notice but just noticed this in telly mag - Timeshift:When the Circus Comes To Town (the rise of Circuses in Britain) followed by Clowns - (the work of British clowns) at 10pm. Thought some of you may be interested! :D

The 2nd programme is about children's entertainers, not circus clowns - sorry!

Not much messy suff in the first but very interesting anyway. Nice quotes from Charlie Cairoli Jnr and clips of his Dad. The Clowns programme was a repeat, no mess, but very entertaining.

I'd hire "Tommy Tickle" - vodka and prozac - hell, yeah!

Would love to go for a drink with "Tommy Tickle" and "Mr Velcro" (the one who got 'banned' for hitting a kid). They look top people. Also, in the previous programme on the history of circus, hasn't Charlie Cairoli Jnr gone grey quickly? But, dare I say it, he has improved with age!! He could show me the secrets of his Dad's act anytime!
