I wonder if Mr Davidson is lurking here as we speak...
A lot of these shows and messy bits from other TV programmes (just found a nice bit of Emu!) are on Youtube. Would anyone be interested if we set up an area of Channel Free with links to top TV clips on there (not pro WAM/splosh stuff)?

Sounds like a great idea, with the interest shown since this thread was posted we are sure it would get a lot of use

I've always wondered, as his other interests would tally (like producing adult pantos etc.) Also he has frequently claimed to have played the part of the Phantom Flan Flinger (from time to time) even before he appeared on Tiswas as himself.
The Youtube idea is a good one. It would be a sort of handy reference library (how scholarly!).
A bloody big job, though (but I suppose someone would have to do it).

The 'I Love Lucy' show was often more sexy than expected. The incredible Lucille Ball seemed always to be up for a sploshing; there's some good clips on You Tube.
Make every day a messy day.

Ahhh Lucy! My first love! Well, when I was a kid and she was still young (in her later series she must have been ...oooh...my age now!). As you say, some top clips on Youtube, but this is probably one of the best.
I am quite prepared to start work on a Classic Slapstick Clip Index for Channel Free (though I would be asking for nominations from you guys as well of course). It could build up over time and saves the lengthy searches. We might even be able to put up a few from people who have them at home on tape/DVD/hard disk etc. I used to collect bits in the 80s (anyone remember BBC 1 - Best of Bill's Clips 1 on very grainy VHS?). Most of those are already up in better quality., you just have to know where to look.

Wow! I haven't seen that clip before. It must have been quite unusual for a woman to get messed up with real food in those days. Pity the pie at the end is a bit off-target! Great 50s dress too!
Bill, you are getting more and more of an old git in your tastes. Martha Raye????? Even you weren't alive in the 1940s! Some great falling over though. Have I mentioned I always wanted to be a stuntwoman when I was a teenager. Several times? Oh right. And (as you know) I agree about Miranda. Posh cow, rubbish slapstick! Martha sounds more like it - loud mouthed, shouty, clumsy broad who gets the pie rather than the guy. My life in a nutshell!
PS Sorry to keep disappearing, guys, - work/cash problems like so many. Should be around for a few weeks now though - albeit on the breadline!

i miss get your own back,... only when its women being gunged and also who wouldnt wanna try out that tank full of gunge!
Re: TV shows you miss...
There are two goo You Tube links to use of Carol Vorderman one of her getting Gunged on Noel's House Party and the other of her pied on Comic Relief. She is not one of our favourite stars, but the two clips are really good and she is dressed well in both clips.

Well spotted - but perhaps quite apt in these cases.

Yes I remember you copying your old VHS clip tape for me about 25 years(!) ago, so if you are considering an updated TV Clips DVD version I'd be interested.
Classic Tiswas, Generation game (Jim D version); Holly W(MoM);Noel's HP; to mention but a few.

I have never said I'd be doing a DVD of clips. For a start I don't collect them any more as Youtube does that for me! Also strictly speaking it infringes all sorts of copyright laws. Our idea is to run an index of links to the Youtube/other places clips including the ones you mentioned. I believe there is software available if you wish to download and keep them.

Re: TV shows you miss...
Is that Milton Berle in the first sequence of the Martha Raye video?
I never could quite enjoy her humor; perhaps I first saw her when she was too old for that brand of humor, or American variety shows did her no justice. I had such a prejudice against her that she almost ruined "Monsieur Verdoux" and the "Big Broadcast of 1938" for me. Perhaps, like Lucy, it is just an acquired taste.

Just looking at You Tube there are so many great gungings on Ministry of Mayhem, for us that show and Holly Willoughby in particular had so many great messy endings and she seems to really enjoy it. In one clip they even get to gunge Cheryl Tweady (Cole) and she enjoys it and joins in. Another great clip we have spotted is Dick and Doms Comic Relief gunging of Ferne Cotton, she takes buckets of slop and a real dousing while trying to sing some tune or other. Clips are all worth a look and can we suggest a weekly gunging of Holly Willoughby at the end of that dreadful ice dance show she hosts with Philip Scholfield.

It looks like him but without hearing him it's hard to say. I understand you disliking Martha as she was a bit loud (always liked feisty women!) and Lucy's crying used to annoy me even as a child, but they did do physical comedy well.
