Macs and wam

Postby valenteen » 12 Jan 2011, 20:38

Can I reopen for probably the 100th time the subject of rain wear and wam. I was so excited when there was more content in the mad macs section of this website.

Does anyone have some good ideas, experiences, links etc? there was a good conversation on another forum about this and there were some good links posted but that seems to have run dry, do you guys have any good ones?

I am not sure what you mean about there being 'more content' in the past on the Mad Macs part of the site. We haven't taken any of it off!! Being a fan of macs etc I hope to add to it myself at some point, depending on how the Xmas set goes (it's not the money, purely my ego that needs all the help it can get!).

OK bad explanation on my part, content being added has slowed down and it has been ages since new stuff was put on there.

the xmas set looked fantastic, (is this helping your ego?) that is why I did my other post with pictures.

so what is your rain wear collection like, extensive? I am trying to clear space if you would like some more, again nothing financial just want to be nice.

do many people into macs and rain wear come to the munch?

Not really relevent, but FWIW, one of the headlines on the front of today's Daily Telegraph is "Stylish Return of the Mac"...

"The first Mackintosh store will open its doors next week, nearly 200 years after the raincoat was invented...."

It's in Mayfair and has "each coat made by hand" and "pieces from Kitsune, the cult Paris-based brand", so I wouldn't get too excited. :D

Being free galleries/pages, we are reliant on people sending us stuff for Channel Free, Mad Macs etc as well as things we create ourselves, so we need contributions to keep it updated regularly.

My collection of macs is far from extensive (especially since I've put on a bit of weight!) but I have several I wear in the real world including the black one and white one (that feature on my Flickr pages), a short red one, long yellow one etc. Always happy to consider getting them messy! Also happy to give a very bad home to any macs/PVC/rubber nobody else wants! I am quite fussy about size (I'm a tall 14) but I am sure Bill would find somebody to fit them if they were slimmer or bigger than me. If I do them, it (almost certainly) would be on a similar basis to the 12 Days pics (ie free but would make a set available for sale to cover gunge costs - not that they have yet!)

I am not a muncher as it is midweek and I am at work but Bill tells me there is at least one very nice couple who are into rainwear (Hi, Jazelle!) and a few rubbery girlies - all of whom he is trying to lure down the studio!

sounds good, I might pop along, it would give me a chance to donate some rain wear to Bill to pass along to you.

I do hope you make another set, how much does the stuff to get messy with cost?

I understand about the contribution thing, I have tried to find people to photograph so I can contribute :-( i just hope someone reads this thread and gets inspired.

I am off to hunt down your flickr pages now. :-p

lustinlatex: it sounds nice, i love playing in the mud in mine, but it does get expensive as i can never be bothered to clean it and then end up buying more.

I am sorry it has taken me this long to reply, work got in the way.

I love your pictures, when were they taken do you have any new ones? Where is the mud you are in, I want to play too! I have a new yellow rain suit I want to try out :-) (the one in my picture but with a jacket too). Do you know or does anyone know any other places like this where the mud is chest/neck deep so you can get really stuck in it? I really want to go out and find some soon, hopefully to take some pictures as well.

We need to get more people into the rain wear and mess. Anyone got any other offerings?

Lustinlatex, I love you footer statement about lumpy stuff, I too prefer porridge and custard and cakes to get messy with in rain wear, do you have any pictures like that?

Again sorry for the late reply. I can make it up to you by offering you some rainwear? I am trying to slim down my collection to make room for new stuff if you want some, but no one even wants to take it off my hands, if anyone is interested?

I think that most of my pix were taken at Barling in Essex quite a few years ago so im not to sure what the privacy situation is now as it was always very quiet and private then.Barbara

Lustinlatex, so you have any rainwear you have seen that you want to see someone get messy in? I have found a great fluorescent yellow suit I want to get from 66 north...
