Justpied.com....does exactly what it says on the (pie) tin!

Postby Big Dave » 15 Feb 2011, 21:03

So to fill the gap as we plan and write more You Can't Do That On The Internet episodes, we wanted to do some pie shoots and our girls wanted to get pied - something about "...pies taste nicer than gunge..." or something....

Anyway, we therefore proudly present JustPied.com, and kick off with Jo and Michelle!

As with all our projects, feedback is greatly appreciated! Let us know what you think and what you'd like to see, either here, via PM or email (dave@gunjee.com)

You can find us over at JustPied.com and remember.....JustPied.com, it does exactly what it says on the tin! :D Well, the pie-tin anyway ;)

The pics look great Dave, I'll have to take a look come payday! Can I ask what pie crusts you use? They look a lot better than the usual Tesco ones.

In itself that is a funny story...most supermarkets have 20-30 in stock (not just 'on the shelves' - out back as well, we did ask!) So there are 20 from Asda, 20 from Tescos, 20 from Morrissons, 20 from Sainsburys, 20 from another Asda and 20 from another Sainsburys....from memory, anyway....

I bet the local supermarkets love you!

The Jo vid is excellent, I would really recommend it - the last question is quite good as well, as Jo realises what's about to happen! She did not look happy by the end :) The only thing I would suggest for a future vid is pie sandwiches, if possible.

As for the fillings...I definitely saw Custard and Whipped Cream in there, was the Chocolate used mousse, or cake batter?

Pie sandwiches are featured sometimes! Michelle got a slightly uneven sandwich, and some of the later players also got sandwiched as the last part of their last pie-forfeit!

There was a wide variety of fillings, everything from tinned custard, jam, whipped AND squirty cream, various mousses and thick gloopy desserts, and various sauces, sticky or otherwise.....we wanted to 'test' a wide variety of things, and I think we've still not settled 100% on a recipe....however, we're happy with the results we got!

PS we've added a third clip to the site now - Liz! All dressed up and nowhere to go, she instead takes a seat and plays on JustPied.com - remember, the questions get harder and harder and the pie-forfeits get greater and greater as she plays on!

The Liz video is fantastic, thanks Dave. The final pie sandwich was great, and her reactions to being pied were well worth watching. Looking forward to the new clips :D
