Subforum Suggestion

So this post started off with me thinking about ideas for my next self-sploshing session [I'm thinking of trying cake batter] - but there isn't, at the moment, somewhere specific in the forum I can go to find out about self-sploshing ideas, other than reading through ideas that come up in people's posts on the WAM Banter forum.

Would it be a good idea to have a subforum where people can swap ideas for 'ideal splosh sessions' - best ways to make pies, recommendations for sploshing substances.

I guess we're bordering on the area of 'tricks of the trade', but I don't know how different people feel about this?

If not - I'd still like to hear what people recommend for sploshing with cake mix, and how much I might need etc.!

Cake mix is excellent especially if you buy the cash and carry sacks which mix with water. We use it all the time and dye the plain version with food colouring. A £6 (depending on make) bag can make nearly a bucketful.

I dont like the idea of splitting the forum as I like its diversity. But if others disagree do let me know.

a "Technical" subforum might not be too bad an idea - the science of making the stuff, and concepts like that gunge tank project are interesting enough... it might help to keep them in their own section so they don't get lost in amongst all the fun-related posts. It'd save duplication as well, since posts would be less likely to disappear off the front page

Wasn't somebody trying to establish a 'wiki' type site with everything you want to know about sploshing? That sort of thing would be ideal for questions like that.

I was looking for somewhere to post this issue, DD, and seeing your post makes it seem for this to be the most appropriate (although I think I may open up one other thread and announce it there, too). I wammed last night for the first time in 4 1/2 years. I did it in preparation for a week-long wamming I'm planning on starting a week from Friday. The reason for last night's preliminary wamming session was to test out some brownie batter I bought. Last time I wammed I used cake batter, but only mixed it by hand. The powder was very lumpy and I had a problem with granules in my eyelids for a few days. Last night I spent an hour mixing the batter with an electric beater. 1/2 hour for one four box mixing and a 1/2 hour for the other four boxes. At the end of the mixing, I tasted the batter and could still taste just a very slight bit of graininess. But it was already 9 pm and I had to start then or put if off to tonight. So I tried. Had a great time (and I'll tell all that in the story forum), but I'm paying for it today. I don't think as bad as the last time, but it doesn't take alot to stay under the eyelids to iritate the eyeballs. I know it will eventually wash itself out, so I'm not panicking. And I've used a lot of commercial eye wash fluid to soothe the soreness, but I would love to know how you sploshers do it so often. Do you just live with the annoyance, or am I completely missing something? (I'm guessing the latter.) If I don't get this figured out by next week, I'll just put the cake batter boxes away and try it some other time. I have more than enough of other substances (chocolate sundae syrup and I'll be ordering a ton of chocolate pudding... not literally of course... literally closer to a 1/4 ton) to play in with hubby. He's not into this at all, and is doing it for me, but he's already warned me that he cannot tolerate any eye problems. That's why I had to experiment with it last night.

I think there is a way round it which could work for everyone.

We could set up a sub-forum for 'practical sploshing advice' so, as you say, the posts don't get lost in the mists of time and we constantly answer the same questions. But we could still keep a copy of the post here as well to maintain variety. As I recall this is technically possible, and just like those partwork magazines, the practical posts will build week-by-week into an encyclopaedia of information on how to splosh. Does that sound like a plan?

By popular demand we have now created a sub-forum called Practical Sploshing. Here you can give your tips and guidance on all aspects of getting messy. We have also put copies of some of the more recent 'practical' threads on there as well - though they maintain a 'shadow version' here too.

Hope to fill it with some ideas after a session in a few days

ideas or methods of splosh delivery would be a good ide, rather than the standard pour from bucket etc
one i used was the tesco easy open 1kg custard cartons (don't know if they still do them????)
hold it on its side in one hand with the easy open end towards you or sploshee then squeese or slap really hard with the other hand and you get a face or target full of custard
you could make regular packets easy open by weakening them in one end

i was thinking of lining some up in the road and waiting for a car or lorry to run them over and get sploshed that way

going to a park at night and placing a large mound of wam stuff at the end of a slide and comming down it with legs wide open is a great one, removal of knickers first is a must
some custard on the slide run increases velocity!

if you are into facial pies, try tieing some to a bar, or other thing above head height, have then dangling face high, then run like hell towards them, having several in a line is balm balm balm balm great LOL

if you know you wont be disturbed or have freinds to watch over then you could make a few different obsicals like that and run, jump and slide throgh a lot in a short space of time
that should give some producers a good idea
warning, foxes do like custard and have followed me through a few parks and streets while covered in custard, i know they don't normally attack but i did get really freaked out one night as the little fuckers were following me within the bushes and i wasn't sure in they thought about an ambush
