To answer Bill's question, in my experience Macs have enough in built problems a virus would be the least of your worries!

15.25 GMT (16.25 on here) - it's still infected with .B!Generic trojans - stay away.

Hi everybody,

Sorry for the late update, I've been shooting for other fetish sites.

First off, Bob it doesn't seem to attack on every visit, its more like one in two. So be aware.

Secondaly I recieved an email off MM at 6:15am uk time, so he must have been working on the problem at 2am stateside.
From what I can see the virus is moving round making it difficult for MM to pin down. I'm going to contact some of my friends
at Symnatec and see if they can advise anything. So at this time what Mike nomic states above is correct.

regards

Andy

Thanks for the updates.

I'd avoid UMD until there's definite confirmation that the problem is fixed. I also checked again earlier with the different paid-version antivirus on my office laptop...this also detected and appeared to remove both the threats. But when I disconnected broadband and did a full scan, they were both still there.

I managed to quarantine them, it now seems alright, but definitely slow at the moment. I'll probably get one of the IT guys at work to check my laptop on Monday, it's a bit worrying.

Is it working now? I tried last night and it downloaded the trojan, but my anti virus worked and I could quarantine them. I don't fancy going onto the site until I know all is ok.

I would like to send UMD a Get Well Soon card. Nothing worse than a nasty virus. Worse still, I can't pick up my messages there!

And before anyone asks, yes I have pruned this thread - I sensed a PC?Mac war about to kick off. Bor-ring!

I wish there was a way that viruses could be sent back to the sender who sent them in the first place so their computer would be screwed. Might stop the stupid knob-heads from sending them then...

I know it wasn't Messmasters fault, and he obviously spent a lot of time on the problem, but I think he should have put the "Proceed at your Own Risk" warning on the first page much sooner. I'm computer-savvy but it caused me a lot of grief, firstly finding which site the virus had come from, then getting it removed (from 2 PC's!).

Grumble over, I'm keeping to British Splosh in future! Long live BIll!

I hope we remain virus-free, but rest assured if we do have any problems we will inform people as soon as we can.

Glad they are back - Hayley might stop moaning!
