Im sorry to ask what must appear to some a stupid question;
have you ever pretended to be a member of the opposite sex, either to shock, annoy, fool or defraud?
the reason i ask, recently been in conversation with a 'lady', wanting to get messy with messyamature and me.
i may act the fool, but im not, so was suprised and disappointed that this lady, may not be all she seem, or more than....

honesty is a wonderful trait.
more to the point, knowing how dirty messyamature is, she wouldnt mind one way or the other lol.
again, sorry if its a daft question, but is it commonplace?

I've never pretended to be anyone other than who I am, but I think it's well recognised that you can't really rely on anything posted on the web. Sometimes this is harmless fantasy or fun, but we've all read about serious issues arising from deception on internet dating sites, etc. On the other hand, people lie in real life, so the web isn't entirely to blame.

I have never pretended to be anything other than my male self online, but yes it is quite common for males to pretend to be female. I had one msn contact who I sussed pretty much straight away and enjoyed chatting with 'her' for over a year before revealing I'd known 'her' to be male all along! On the web, it's best to assume that no-one is who they say they are. If they send you a picture, it may well not be of them!

Of more concern is underage chatters who pretend to be adults, this is also unfortunately fairly common. If you want to avoid an honorable mention in the sex offenders register, be careful and assume that no-one is who they say they are until you have met in real life.

I understand your concerns and it is tricky given that many of us are blokes who like to don the femme gear, esp for sploshing! Most are straight and, therefore, aren't looking for 'male admirers' but, similarly, RGs may not be comfortable with TV/CD/Pre-op TS folk. However, while there are those, like me, who make no secret about being a CD, others tend to 'live the dream' and try to maintain a femme persona 24/7 (or whenever they can).

In some cases, that's not because they are a casual kinky cross-dresser like many on here, but because they have a deep-felt need to look and act femme from a psychological and personality point of view. What you may be interpreting as deliberate deception may be nothing more than the 'correction' of erroneous gender identity, in their eyes.

It's a really difficult area to 'get a handle on', as they say. All you can do is try to be thorough in your evaluation and don't necessarily assume that they are deliberately trying to deceive you. After all, a meet-up would pretty quickly dispel any doubt so someone attempting just to deceive prior to meeting would be pretty dim to do that, surely? (....which is another alternative, come to think of it!)

I have never pretended to be anything other than what I am, I can't keep up false personalities because my memory isn't good and I can't remember what I say about myself, so I would be found out easily.

I have sploshed in womens clothes once or twice, but that was after getting the idea from people on this forum, and the pictures and descriptions state clearly that it is me trying out messing up skirts etc., not me passing myself off as a woman.
