Re my wife

As some of you know my wife has been quite ill lately, we've been back to the spinal clinics and have been told theres not much more they can do shes gutted as am i. So i fear our sploshing days are numbered but im sure i'll stick around

That is really tough....despite improved medical care, there seems to be more-and-more people being affected by one-thing-or-another at younger ages.

Just look after one another, enjoy the good things, and stick around here...the wam/splosh crowd are a good lot of guys and girls.

That's very unfortunate. We do seem to get used to the idea that everything can be cured and that everything is known but it isn't really the case. I have a number of ailments that have put me into the 'medical mystery' category, in several departments so I know what it's like, especially when they do impact on what you used to take for granted in terms of mobility, as I'm finding now.

However ... if it's any comfort, I often console myself with the thought that I'm still alive so it could have been worse!

the main problem is the Nerve damage to her spine when the L1 S2 disks collapsed and popped out, this has left her with no feeling in her foot, and shes unable to lift anything more than 1kg with out pain. But to cheer ourselfs up we got a new car which makes her and me smile

I don't know the facilities where you are but we have two hospitals near us that are sinal specialists and are embarking on pionnering work. Maybe she could get referred to either. Queens Medical Centre Nottingham or Boston Pilgrim Hospital Boston Lincolnshire.

Obviously I cannot say they can help but maybe worth a try.
