Hi
As you will have noticed, I haven't done any blogging for a while for a number of reasons. We are currently planning to update the Blog idea but I was interested in your views about what a Blog should be.
When I was doing it regularly, I kept the subject matter purely to messy matters - stories about shoots, models, etc etc. cos I thought anything else was rather self indulgent. The problem then became the overlap between the Blog and the Forum with similar stories appearing on both. In recent months, I have been sharing stories and pictures of both my sploshing life and my social life on Facebook (mainly drunken shots of me and mates in the pub along with tame Facebook-friendly sploshing pics!) and since everyone in the pub knows about Splosh! the two work together quite well. It also broadens the subject and provides more funny stories. However, this is a fetish site, so does it belong on a Splosh! Blog?
So, if I was to start up the Blog again, would you prefer it to be
a) solely about sploshing?
b) a mix of sploshing and socialising (though more messy and rude than Facebook)?
c) a bizarre mix of sploshing, socialising, random thoughts, funny ideas, stories etc of the sort you get (whether you want to or not) when you meet me in the pub?
d) Don't bother at all, we've heard quite enough already
In a way, I like the penultimate option, but I do worry it comes over as a bit egotistical. However a lot of Blogs are like that so perhaps it's ok. Do let me know what you think.
Bill

I'd choose c, as it shows more of your real life, as well as the production side of things.

C. It's a blog and you're right, it is egotistical and that's the point. You write whatever you want to, if somebody likes it, they read it.
Re: To Blog or Not to Blog?
Most definitely C - and to hell with the egotesticles...
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

C is good but we wouldn't mind C being posted on the forum either.

Re: To Blog or Not to Blog?
C is good, and if you tag blog entries appropriately it means you get the best of all worlds, so if someone is purely interested in the sploshing stuff they can only read those entries. And if someone was only interested in your random thoughts, for whatever reason, they could just read those

Re: To Blog or Not to Blog?
Thanks for the thoughts so far.
Don't worry, if I did adopt Plan C it would still be mainly about messy stuff as my life is mainly about messy stuff! It's just that recently so many funny and unusual things have happened to me in the pub and with mates it seems a shame not to mention them somewhere. At the moment they get one line on Facebook and maybe a photo but that's all. I promise I would try and avoid the ghastly attempts at profundity that make so many blogs excruciating.

Just to add, I'd also go for C. And don't worry about being egotistical, you're one of the original WAM celebrities, you've earned it! Though I'm not so sure about the egotesticles mentioned upthread, that sounbds horribly messy, and not in a good way.
Just promise us you'll stay off that awful big Brother (unless they offer you a gunge consultant's production job, of course)...

I've been hearing about your Facebook adventures, my dear! Or should that be Oh Dear? I still refuse to join so I'd be happy to see your non-sploshy exploits in my absence! Give my regards to the people in the pub.
PS I still prefer Fetlife where you can find me being as outrageous as I like as SploshHayley. Do join me!
