Just to stick my nose in on this one. I worked with Brian a little in the early nineties. I was one of the first to introduce him to video at that time as he had previously used stills for his collections. I suppose the most interesting thing that came out of my involvement with Brian was the discovery of Emma Wee.
Emma was studying at Lancaster University and just before xmas one year in the early nineties she had said to Brian that she would have a go at the messy fun. I turned up armed with 15 catering cans of beans and a board game to video the proceedings. Emma had her first messy session in a very cold 'studio' somewhere in Lancaster along with one of Brian's regular girls and I still have the video which I watch very occasionally.

I will try to get the video transferred onto dvd, to make it more usable. Then quite willing to let interested parties offer me suitable renumeration. That can range from a fiver to joining in a messy session with me and my lovely lady!

We will put the Emma scenes up for download when we do the retro store including a new bit nobody's seen with her and Jo from the very end of It's Splatterday. There are loads of stories about her and what she got up to down here (she stayed at my house one summer) and I am the proud owner of a piece of her artwork (framed). She also did the It's Splatterday logo.

I believe Brian Grove retired after his wife died quite suddenly, a loss like that would that'd throw most people I think. Hope he's doing OK with whatever he does nowadays.

The plastic pants lasted well and got used by Her Hayleyship for fun several times but they were never used again 'professionally' as the elastic in the waistband and legs was dyed bright orange by the beans, spaghetti etc that Emma filled them with so didn't look very nice. They were extremely well made and very thick though. None of the thin stuff you get now! Their only problem was that they were 'Medium' sized and when full got so heavy they'd fall down which is why they were mostly used sitting down.
