I'm seeing the film in 2 more days with my wife and two trusty nerd friends.

I CAN'T WAIT - the trailer looks awesome and I've heard only positive feedback on it so far. This and Terminator 4 are my two most anticipated films at the mo.

Since others have mentioned other shows, I'm a big fan of Red Dwarf (up to season 6), LOST is super exciting at the moment ... season finale this week (screeeeaaaammmm!!!!) and I also love Sopranos and 6 Feet Under.

I really think we live in a golden age of tv shows ... some of the writing and acting in the better shows puts Hollywood to shame.

Did anyone remeber the scene in The Next Generation when Riker was dragged under by the slime monster! Yes i don't mind Star Trek as you may of guessed, not a fan of the new enterprise im afaid.

I do remember that, and was slightly annoyed when Crusher, Troi and Yar all got left alone by it. Well, Yar was killed, but you know what I mean =P

Just looked that up. Looks good, but one of them has an admiral's rank and the wrong uniform. Wait, should I be noticing that? Oh dear...

Yes, im a fan of Lost and Heroes too. Also Doctor Who. So that poses the question, what other shows are us trekkies into?.

New Film, excellent fun...would recommend and it doesnt matter if you are a Trekkie or not really, suspect it might work for both....

As for other shows... well quite a few of you already know of my appreciation for Captain Jack..... and the good Dr as well of course

edited to take out a reference to the film for those who may not have seen it yet - Duh! should have just said what DM1 said

I won't give anything away so as not to spoil it for anyone, but it's bloody good! And the way they've managed to "reboot" the whole concept rocks too. Roll on the sequel!

I may have read this wrong or I am just being pedantic, but I don't think JJ Abrams has anything to do with Heroes? I suppose Sylar is in it, does that get confusing? :)

I'm looking forward to going to see this too. I'm not a trekkie but I do enjoy the films/TV shows, I mainly watched the original and the next generation.

Yep, you're right, duh!
Sylar is probably the connection I had in my head that made me believe for the last few months that "Heroes" was a "JJ Abrams" show, I watch the show, not the credits, lol.

My top shows:
Battlestar Galactica old and new
Life On Mars UK
Ashes To Ashes
Heroes
Lost
Doctor Who
SG1
Atlantis
24
The Sarah Conner Chronicles
Eureka

I'll confess to something worse than that. When I was YOUNGER!! (feels old) I was a big fan of Airwolf.

I so wanted that helicopter.

I would only confess that to Miss T, dont tell me Miss T, like every other lady you had the hots for Stringfellow hawk.

If it's Sci-fi I will tend to watch it! Good or bad!

I'm not ashamed of my Sci-fi Geeky side.

There was lots of rubbish shows I'm sure lots of us watched when we were younger, Airwolf, Tron, Quantum Leap, Alf, Blue Thunder, The Wizz Kids, I could go on and on and on!

Star Trek Next Generation and Voyager
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis

are my main favourites.

The last two especially since they are filmed locally and I get to play 'spot the alien planet I walked by last month'

Bring back Buck Rogers. If only cos Mel Blanc (star of every Warner Bros cartoon) was the voice of Twiki the robot just before he died.

I have recently been introduced The Wire, only seen season 1 but it was fantastic, great show. I like 24 too, but I've a real soft spot for CSI in all it's varieties.... can't say I ever got very into Star Trek, but I'm going to watch the new film for sure :D

You have impeccable taste, even eden isn't that bad ;) I enjoy the CSI's although they are growing ever more samey. The Vegas one used to be my favourite but I'm not as enamoured with Ray (Laurence Fishburne) as I was with Gill Grisom. NY is good and Miami has its moments but is probably the weakest of the lot.

The Wire just gets better and better as it goes on. Enjoy.
