The story of a gungey shoot (and some photos)

Hey guys, I just realized I’d been rather remiss and shard this story and images with those over at the umd but not posted here. I apologise profusely but better late than never!
It started a couple of months ago, some of you will know I am a semi-pro photographer, I was browsing a forum used by models and photographers and a post jumped out at me "Photographer wanted for messy shoot". Intrigued I had a look and it turned out a model had seen some messy images and was keen to add some to her profile. I messaged her and said I would be interested in working with her, she came back and said she loved my work and the feeling was mutual. So discussions took place and it was agreed that she would come and be gunged with natrasol in my home studio when my parents who I live with were away. She was really up for it. She confirmed with me a couple of weeks before and I ordered the gunge, it arrived a few days later and I messaged her to say that it had. Then worryingly I got no response. A couple of days later she contacted me saying she had split with her bf, he was the one giving her a lift (she was travelling over 200 miles), we looked at various public transport options but to no avail it was going to take her over 5 hours to travel one way and she couldn't stay over because she had a baby to care for. Reluctantly we agreed we'd have to cancel.....

I posted on several forums trying to get someone to stand in and e-mailed many local models, but most of them didn't reply and the responses I got were ussually laughable "I don't know where you live so I'm not shooting with you" being the most mind boggling stupid! Just as I was giving up hope however my friend Carly who is a pro model who I have worked with a few times got in touch, I told her the idea expecting her to get laughed at. However the response I got was "how heavy is it?" - I should explain in the e-mail I had said it would be handy if a chaperone could help out on the shoot by pouring the gunge. I said that I had enough natrasol powder to make 32 litres of gunge but that would be split up between buckets to make them light as needs be. Carly said she loved the idea and had someone in mind to do the pouring and that she would be in touch.

However almost a day later no word from her at all, the day before I was meant to do the shoot and I was about to concede defeat. Then I got a text from Carly saying her friend Nat also a model would come and help out as long as I did a shoot with the 2 of them before had so they got photos for their portfolios. I of course text back saying "YES!" Arrangements were made, we were on....I hardly slept that night!

So next morning I rose and started mixing the gunge - about two hours and a lot of cramp and swearing later it was mixed and the photo was taken and put on the umd. Then Carly and Nat arrived, we had barely said "hello" when Carly said "I want to see it" so I led them to the kitchen where the buckets stood. Their eyes went wide and jaws dropped followed by fits of nervous giggles. We did the normal shoots and had a lot of fun. Then just as we were getting ready for the gunging Carly's phone went and she had heated words with her Dad about when she was being picked up. She went very quiet then and started asking me questions that I had already answered, did the gunge stain, was their bleach in it, what was it made from etc. We were ready and she looked nervous as hell, I was worried she might burst into tears. I asked her if she was ready and she said yes uncertainly, so I told Nat to start pouring. Carly flinched at first complaining it was cold, then her and Nat both burst into giggles. Nat poured more and Carlys nervous expression turned slowly into a wide grin. When we were on the 2nd bucket Carly rubbed her breasts and half said half moaned "this is really really nice actually" "kinky bitch" commented Nat. We had used up about half the gunge and Carly was covered, and I had got some great shots - she couldn't stop giggling and smiling and was obviously having a ball. It was then I inadvertantly got gunge on my fingers, something you don't want to do while using a camera. I quickly ran into the kitchen rinsed my fingers and got the next bucket of gunge ready, I could hear hysterical laughter coming from the studio. I went back in to find that Nat had gone from being fully clothed to just her knickers. I did a double take and she smiled at me fluttered her eye lashes and said "can I have a go please". I almost fell over backwards! I defy anyone to have said no to her. "Sure" I said, so there was a girl who wasn't even meant to get messy actually asking me to get covered ! She stepped in the pool, almost slipped over and knelt next to Carly and I passed Carly the next bucket...................
Nat was in the pool giving me a grin, whilst Carly went from grinning to having a slightly evil manner an thoroughly enjoy tipping blue gunge over her mate’s breasts, “oh god I see what you mean, it is cold” said Nat. They then descended into fits of giggles! More gunge was poured over Nat and she retaliated by scooping handfuls of multicoloured gunge from the pool over Carly claiming “you aren’t messy enough”. The volume of giggling increased and the girls were starting to just do their own thing and I stopped directing them as much. At one point Nat slipped and concerned Carly and I chorused are you ok as she let out a high pitched “ooooohhhh” noise, she then went a bit red and half whispered “it hadn’t reached there yet”. Carly responded by saying “and you say I’m a kinky bitch” as she tipped more gunge over Nat. Then Nat said “I’m not having it in my hair” before I could even respond Carly picked up the bucket of orange and tipped it over Nat’s head. They had changed from models into two girls just having a damn good time – it was fantastic to watch! Carly got ready to pour the last bucket which was yellow, she then got covered by half of it herself as Nat pushed it back into her catching her off guard. Unfortunately now though Carly’s dad was due any minute to pick them up. So I told them this we took a few shots to finish and they somewhat unwillingly got out and headed for the shower. Just as the door closed of the bathroom a car rolled up. “Your Dad is here” I shouted “tell him we won’t be long” came the reply…….

Now many of you will know the feeling when you meet you other half’s parents after they know you have just had sex……It is something akin to that what I felt as I walked to the car. Carly’s Dad is a nice bloke I have met him before and he is very supportive of her, she also tells him everything she does…. So there was I, the guy responsible for his girl getting nearly naked and covered in gunge stood telling him she was running late but wouldn’t be long. It wasn’t a long chat! He indicated he’d stay in the car.

Then the girls were whisked off back home and I was left to clean up. I won’t bore you with detail but it took me 3 hours including a pause to watch Red Dwarf and eat pizza. The background cloth came clean thanks to the washing machine. I collapsed into bed exhausted and text Charlie telling her I had just finished cleaning. She text back thanking me for “one of most fun shoots ever”. Nat also text me saying she had a great time.
Now I wasn’t originally intending to sell these images, when they were being shot it didn’t even enter my head so no contracts for that purpose were signed with the models etc. However with all the positive response I got on the umd I thought about it and had an offer made by a wam producer to sell them. All was well and good, the girls were happy with it, then Carly’s agent found out and basically threw a wobbler! He told her selling them on a fetish website would ruin her career and refused to let her sign the model release. Now as you will all know many successful models do WAM modeling – it certainly didn’t do Katie Green any harm! So clearly the guy is an idiot, however it means I can’t put them for download on a website.

However there is nothing he can do to stop me distributing them on cd or e-mailing them to people as a zip file as I am free to use them to promote myself. Having seen the full set all I can say is wow!! I'm not in the UK so got the zip file, super easy and fast for all you technophobes out there. Very glad I did. Hope we see more soon.
