Off Topic: Trekkies
Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
Yes, I'm a star trek fan, though I'm more a fan of the books than the series.
To cause controversy:
DS9 was the best series
Enterprise was actually getting good when they cancelled it
Picard is definitely better than Kirk, but Sisko might be better still
Kira Nerys's arse was the best in all of Trek.
But Ezri Dax was the cutest.
There is nothing wrong with imagining Kira, Ezri, Jadzia and Leeta all going at it together in a room full of jelly.
Keith RA DeCandido is best author, with Peter David second.

Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
Controversy indeed, number one. Picard is far and away the best captain in my book.
Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
So we have done fave Captain, any one for Starships
USS Defiant for me

USS Defiant for me

I'm the Doctor! I am A Timelord! I am 903 years old
Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
I would say the USS Enterprise D... but I'll try and be a bit more original
. I reckon the Borg Cube. Menacing and instantly recognisable, I love the Borg

You seem to have the speech nailed anyway
He does have an excellent Shakesperian way of delivering lines, gives him an air of authority

Picard is possibly my favourite captain,as I found NG a bit darker than the others!Looking forward to film,

Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
Bit of a late comer here to the post, a bit like Seven of Nine in Star Trek Voyager (season 4 i beleive?). Did anyone remeber the scene in The Next Generation when Riker was dragged under by the slime monster! Yes i don't mind Star Trek as you may of guessed, not a fan of the new enterprise im afaid.
Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
I'm a big Star Trek fan, can't wait to see the film, even though I really hate the idea of prequels, I'm also a "Heroes" and "Lost" fan, so I've got a fair amount of confidence in JJ Abrams!
Favourite Shows, well, they all had their own merrits, except of course the last one! But I think DS9 was my favourite, particularly once Worf joined!
Closely followed by Voyager, then TNG, then TOS! I watched every single episode of Star Trek, right up until "Enterprise", I gave up with that after the first series.
Favourite Starship, Voyager, although up until the start of that show my favourite starship was "Relient" from "The Wrath Of Khan!
I am a fan though, not a freak, I watched them all once, perhaps some twice, I didn't learn Klingon or go to any conventions!

Re: Off Topic: Trekkies
I saw the new film a few nights ago.
I won't give anything away so as not to spoil it for anyone, but it's bloody good! And the way they've managed to "reboot" the whole concept rocks too. Roll on the sequel!
Oh yes, fave catain = Picard, fave ship is a bit harder though, there were quite a few good ones.

I may have read this wrong or I am just being pedantic, but I don't think JJ Abrams has anything to do with Heroes? I suppose Sylar is in it, does that get confusing?

I'm looking forward to going to see this too. I'm not a trekkie but I do enjoy the films/TV shows, I mainly watched the original and the next generation.
