There must be other female sploshable politicians... Caroline is certainly very pretty. A few messy MPs might improve popularity during these difficult times...

The dear old Libs are good for MP totty. Jo Swinson and Julia Goldsworthy both fairly young.....

However I'm fairly certain Romsey MP Sandra Gidley was gunged once.... I remember seeing pics of it....

I'd love to see that, Jonny! I went to see Sandra Gidley for a temporary locum pharmacist job at Tesco, some time before she won the seat at Romsey. I didn't take the job as I didn't like the look of the working conditions but she seemed OK and very friendly. :)

   No, I thought that in the atmosphere of a huge supermarket there might be too much pressure from unqualified 'senior management' and I would be prevented from doing the work in a proper ethical manner.

MissHelen wrote:In more ways than one she torpedo'd McCain's campaign, first by making him look desperate and pandering by selecting a female running mate who hadn't even made the senate yet in order to capture frustated Hilary supporters, then having the cartoonesque airhead upstage him utterly, to the point where some voters thought they were voting for Palin for president. Tina Fey's SNL impressions, instead of assassinating Palin's character, defined it - Americans in general and Republicans in particular have no qualms about voting loonies into the highest office in the land so long as they're charismatic and recognisable loonies. Even before the last election there was talk of the Moose Murderer being the pick for 2012, which would lead to a campaign of political speeches to make dubya Bush look like Winston Churchill.

Sarah Palin is a perfect fit for slapstick skits with her rambling speech, airheaded self confidence and OTT appearance - as a youtube commenter pointed out, the only difference between the first SNL skit and the interview it was based on was the laugh track. So even if Sarah Palin herself never gets gunged (never say never - if ever there was a politician who'd do anything for publicity it's the hockey mom) we can rely on a steady stream of impersonators. If she runs in 2012 she could end up with more than Elvis.

I was in the states for all of this and really, you summed it all up. She was just a disaster from the moment she opened her mouth... the SNL sketch is quite possibly one of the funniest pieces of satire seen on TV... the line about Americans not having humour or understanding irony just gets trashed right there...

She really has got that MILF (I hate the term but it works here!), stuck up, party line towing, prideful yet stupid deep rooted conservative look and feel that just shouts "PIE ME! SLIME ME!" to peoples subconscious... and deep down i doubt anyone would be suprised if it turned out to be a turn on for her...

Looks interesting, but not convinced of a huge similarity, I'm sure a lot of people would look like that with the same glasses and hair do :)

Not sure about Oona King, pleasant looking, but does'nt really do it for me. She was the Labour MP fgor Bethnal Green and Bow until the last election when George Galloway beat her.

Lovethe Palin a like stuff. She has got to be one of the best pie targets ever!

Tina Fey, who impersonated Sarah Palin on satirical comedy shows in the US during the presidential election, recently got pied by clowns. See it here:
