ha ha ha - some one told me about the ATM trivia last year some time.
Those kind of weird useless facts always stick in my head.
Reg Varney R.I.P.
Hey! Whats with this unprovoked attack from all directions?
I'm not particularly keen on buses because they are nasty smelly diesel things. I like steam propelled vehicles (trains, traction engines, etc) and things that run on rails (trains, trams, etc).
As for being old, - yes I think I might be the oldest active splosher on the planet, or at least in Britain! Anyone want to dispute that claim?
Any more insults and I'll report you all to Mr Asquith, the Prime Minister!

The old ones are the best
Do I detect a new thread about to start?
Who is the oldest splosher in town?

I think sex is better than logic
but I can't prove it.

This was in the days when only 2 routes ran from there the 250 and 151 both going to Southend but by different routes.
Been doing a bit of "Googling" I was right......yay
WNO979F (seen below) was one of Eastern National's large fleet of FLF Lodekkas, seen here resting outside the London Road depot-cum-bus station. It has been plying the 251, the famous route from Southend that terminated at Wood Green, in the depot which served as the garage of fictitious Luxton & District, from the TV series 'On the Buses', starring Reg Varney.

Just for the record, the 251 still runs, albeit a shorter journey than before previously stated.
It runs between Mill Hill Broadway and Arno's Grove tube station in north London. I even used to use it to get home a few years back.
Wood Green still has a bus depot just up from the tube station.
Blimey it went to Southend . . . . . that's quite amazing. Still, not that I wanted to add to the inevitable vintage bus thread . . . .

Who ate all the pies ? What a waste of pie !
Well, you can't blame me for bumping the bus side of this thread. I was too busy chucking up a dodgy take-away in the studio last night! Barrrfff.
But since I'm here...I like the Lodekka. What buses should look like.

Bill,
What about an AEC Regent III or a Leyland PD2 or 3?
I detect the presence of a fellow bus and steam train enthusiast on this site
If you want to read some of my bus rambling go to www.aidan.co.uk/forums manchester public transport and go to the thread headed Manchester Corporation/Selnec PTE buses and look for Mr Angry, I think I start on about page 6

Having been born & brought up in Wolverhampton, I'm a dedicated Great Western man, especially Churchward designed locos. I would therefore nominate Saints, Halls, Stars, 28xx class and (although I was too late to see them) Bulldogs & Cities (except 'Truro' of course - I've been hauled by that one!).
Bottoms Up!
