.
Just a short time to go to the Christmas London Meet, so here are latest details!

The date:THURSDAY 11TH OF DECEMBER 2008.
Start Time: FROM 6PM TIL LATE.

WE WILL BE THERE FROM AROUND 16:30 TO SECURE OUR TABLE AND GRAB A BITE TO EAT SO COME AND JOIN US FOR AN EARLY BANTER IF YOUR AROUND! :D 8) :)

The Location: THE PENDERELS OAK, HOLBORN, WC1.
Brand New Contact Number: **07984 886 085** PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PHONE BOOKS! - !
How to spot the group:LOOK OUT FOR THE CHRISTMAS TREE AND CARD ON TABLE!

The full address for the meet is The Penderels Oak, 283-288 High Holborn, WC1V 7HP. The nearest tube stations are Holborn on the Central and Piccadilly lines or Chancery Lane on the Central line. Click here for a link http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en ... iwloc=addr .There is also a wide selection of buses to choose from, serving near and far in all directions. Here are two links to help you plan your journey from within London or from outside of London, www.journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk www.nationalrail.co.uk

If you need anymore help please call the London Meet mobile on 07984 886 085 or e-mail us londonmeet@hotmail.co.uk

The Penderels Oak is nice and big and has two bars (one on street level and another basement bar downstairs). We will be located in the main upstairs bar and as near to the main entrance as we can be. When you enter the main door there are some leather sofas directly ahead and we aim to be in or close to that area.

To help find the right group quickly look out for a 'Miniature Christmas tree on the table along with a Christmas card'. If you can't find us call the London Meet mobile on 07984 886 085 and we will find you and bring you over to the group. 8)

After four years ( and to prove easy_as_ has more than one shirt !) we will be scrapping the Hendrix and Smiley face shirts. We have made this decision as we feel it attracts too much attention from others in the pub, which we would like to avoid. We would ask you to consider what you wear as this meet is a vanilla meeting.

WHAT IS A LONDON MEET :?:

The London Meet is for people from the wam community to meet other fellow wammers in person and put faces to the names. It is about having a few drinks, building trust and friendships and generally getting to know each other a little better in real life. It has been, in fact, a springboard to arrange other meets and events as a result. The discussions will not always be about wam, plenty of other general chitter-chatter goes on too, so feel free to talk about anything you like ! It is also a great place to offer your services, promote your content, buy and sell wam stuff and have fun ! :D :) :D :)

The pub serves a very good selection of ales, wines, beers and spirits. In addition there is also a wide range of soft drinks on offer to go with the 'pub grub menu' and Thursday night is curry night ! The pub has a late license so it does not close till 1am, meaning more flexibility on when you want to leave.

I'M NOT FROM LONDON CAN I COME :?:

Anyone and everyone who wants to come is invited, so come along ! ! ! The London Meet is open to all, we have had many people come a long way from far and wide to be there.

LONDON AGAIN :!: WHY :?:

' Meets ' happen in London because it suits wammers living in or near London but it also suits people coming from the NW, NE, SE and even SW of England. Those that have travelled down, along or up to London, often combine business or leisure with the trip. For example some people have done shopping while others have gone to the theatre - not that it is for us to tell you what to do. 8)

London is an easy place to commute to with great transport links.

The 'London Meet' is fairly well established now and has a regular core group of people who attend. It would make no sense for us to organize get-togethers in different places. The great news is these days lots more action is happening outside London, such as Bristol and Warrington, so currently you have three active 'Meets' to choose from. Other areas are planning 'Meets' too, look out for your nearest gathering !!! Or organize one ! ! !

Well that’s it - pop your name on the list if you want to come along.

Any questions please drop us a pm, if you need any more information or help then please do not hesitate to call the London Meet number on 07984 886 085 or e-mail us londonmeet@hotmail.co.uk

See you there !

Smiley and easy_as_

:D :) 8)

That's really close to where I'm supposed to be working when I get back to the UK, I walked past it to go to my interview...

I'm really not sure if that's a good thing....

I'm about to contract in Belfast (well, if they sign it off!), so can only make Friday/Saturdays for the next few months. I'll have to give this one a miss - still, Messy Christmas, everyone!
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

Its a long journey for me so the Warrington meet up would have been closer and more convenient, alas it had to be cancelled.

Going off the posted pics and write ups the London Meet Ups are undoubtedly the biggest and the best organised. I'm going to make a real effort to come to this one and make my meet up debut so to speak.

As I will be going there alone what kind of welcome can I expect? I don't want to be sitting on my own in the corner after a 250 mile trip :?

Hi Slapstickfan,

I hope you will consider going to the next Warrington meet in April as i had a blast the last time i went there.

As for the London meet, you can expect a nice warm welcome from easy_as and myself and all the others, you won't be sitting on your own waiting for others to turn up, Infact some of us plan to get there before the meet start time of 6pm to grab some food before the main meet starts so join us for that if you can. We have had many people come from all over the world and all over the UK to join us and they still keep coming back for more, Im confident your trip will be worth it. :D

I hope this helps you, but if need anything more please drop us a line. :D :D :D
