Messycellulose slime recipes

Postby rich_d_rich » 18 Jul 2008, 23:55

I'm building this art project for a local "burning man" styled festival down here in New Zealand (if it works, I might take it to the American Burning Man in Nevada).

It's based on the game Dance Dance Revolution (and on the Dance Dance Immolation version, where you get sprayed with fire for making a wrong move).

In this version, Dance Dance Decoration, people will be sprayed with paint/slime when they misstep, or chocolate if they do well. And of course, the floor will get slimey and they *will* fall over!

Anyway, I got questions:
Anyone have good recipes for coloured slime?

How much methycellulose powder to the litre of water?

What colour do people use? Poster paint? food colouring?

And has anyone made a working slime sprayer, and how?

I will of course keep people posted!

For measurements for gunge I use about 20grams or 4 teaspoons of methylcellulose to a litre of water. For slime you may want to use a little less.
Make sure that you mix it in at least hand hot water though or it won't thicken properly and pre colour as it's better to colour the water and then thicken it than to try and colour the gunge once it's made which is difficult to do.

Then pie me some more.
