After ages of waiting, I now have been given a date from the landlady...
Sunday 17th August 2008
It will be held at this location again, just like last year.
And if you didn't attend the first one in 2007, this is how messy it got. We're aiming for double that amount of mess this time round!
Please note that this isn't a fetish/sexual event, it's based around comedy and the legendary Saturday morning show that is Tiswas. Various games will be played that might be, er, slightly rigged, to get you messy. There's also comedy sketches, and the jewel in the crown - the Cage from Tiswas Reunited is all set up in the beer garden. The Phantom Flan Flinger and his wife will be present to ensure plenty of pieings.
Edit: Gah, I originally wrote "18th". Thanks to Richard, I've amended so it's the 17th!

Hello,
Sounds very intresting as im not that far away from the location.
If people are thinking of doing a tour of the UK this weekend please let me know. I would like to do the Bristol Splunch followed by the Tiswas night! God what a weekend that would be!
It would be great to travel with a few people from Bristol to Wellingborough.
I can offer accommodation at my flat (near ish to Wellingborough) for 2-3 people on the Sunday night so people coming far wont need to worry about getting home the same evening.
Contact me if anyone is interested.

By the way Tiswas was pretty tame concerning gunge. It only used pies made out of shaving foam, sometimes coloured with food colouring. And coloured water for throwing over people. Whipped cream makes better pies. Though not the stuff you get in cans as it goes watery.

Would love to try and make this event but only if I can tear myself away from editing! I am sure it will be loads of fun.

Really!? I think it did okay compared to Newsnight!

Yeah, the best way! We'll be using that on the night.

Eh? Tiswas chucked buckets of stuff like mushy peas, baked beans, semolina, chocolate pudding and spaghetti over people - even real custard was used sometimes. A lot of the Cage gunge was watered down shaving foam (with polystryene balls for filler), but Tiswas definitely pushed the envelope when it came to gunge.
We'll be using natrosol-based gunge for the Cage though, which I find to better than Tiswas' watered-down foam.

If we allocated our budget to whipped-cream pies, there would be only a handful of them. Shaving foam is much better, we can fill a bucket up to the brim with just two cans of Tesco Value foam, leave it to settle for 30 minutes, then just dish out a dozen pies from that.
Did you know we must have gone through about 300-400 pies last year?
Being flanned with real cream is pretty unpleasant, as it takes ages to wash off. The sweet sticky smell stays with you for days. While some people can put up with that, the majority would not.
Last year we had a spontaneous pie-fight involving 50 people at the end of the night, as you can see in the YouTube video. The quantity made it possible...
On the landlady's birthday, her husband and a barman thought it would be pretty amusing to get me with some slices of her creamy birthday cake, in a surprise attack. They totally got me, it was funny to onlookers (I wasn't too pleased), but took me 30 minutes in the shower to clean up, and I needed plenty of deodorant the following morning to cover up the sickly sugary smell. Plus the coverage was crap anyhow!
As you're so fussy, Stonecastle, don't bother turning up! I'm sure we'll only have to pacify ourselves with just a mere ~100 people having fun!
