What to use for colouring...?

Hey guys,

Me and Eden have a bit of a themed mess planned for the weekend, and we're looking for a touch of advice on colouring some angel delight.

Basically, we're looking for something that won't (or at least shouldn't) stain clothes. I've heard poster paint is commonly used for natrasol, but any advice would be most welcome

Even poster paint can stain clothes if you aren't careful. Use all colouring, paint or fiood colouring (which we use) sparingly and wash clothes immediately

Hmmm, perhaps we'll give colouring a miss this time then... immediate washing isn't really possible while we're still "stealth sploshing" and don't have our own place.

In that case I wouldn't use colouring. If left on clothes for a bit it almost always stains. Save it for when you come down. You see, I hadn't forgotten...just had a lot on my mind!!

we where going to use food colouring for our messy session tonight but changed our mind incase it was hard to get of her skin and hair

Thanks Julie, but can you suggest a brand so we know what to look out for? It's probably too late to get any for tomorrow now, but we're looking to have a few sessions in the next couple of weeks

We get the larger bottles delivered from Brakes the wholesale grocery people. You have to register with them and there is a minimum order amount but since they also do cake mix (albeit more expensive than most C&Cs) it is worth the occasional delivery from them when you need a big batch of colouring.

Sorry but I stand by what I said, even with coloured shaving foam unless you wash clothing pretty quickly after it caan stain pale colours.

We use the same colouring as Julie, though you have to be careful how much you add, as too much it will stain, we have used it for that purpose on some outfits.

Thanks everyone who has contributed their experiences, we'll probably save colourings for when we'd be happy to stain the clothing.

Bea, you mentioned that poster paint will stain PVC clothing, any idea about shower floors? How similar are the plastics?

Don't know if I' m referring at the same kind of "poster paint", but that kind of tempera fingerpaint thought to be OK for children fingers stained in pale yellow and blue dyes my very new plastic bathtub.
I tried to wash with many products, and colored spots are slowing disappearing, but it tooks months.
I tried other times tempera paint messyng, and since that time I put a silicone antiskid carpet on bathtub, at least with it on bottom,stain situation did'nt got worst.
And tempera paint stained totally white tshirt, and jeans too were slightly stained from paint.
Cleaning hair and skin, at the contrary, was unexpectly fast.

My experience is that with both poster paint and food colouring both come off okay so long as you catch them straight away. Leave them to dry on clothes or towels (and probably plastic bath tubs) and you do get stains. My pale blue Nurse outfit still has rather gruesome red stains round the breast pockets after they filled with dyed cake mix during a session a while back. So clean up quickly!
