Best Supermarkets for supplies?

Postby cheshirecouple » 28 Apr 2008, 13:33

Hi all

Just wondering where your favourite place to shop for supplies is?

I usually go tesco for mine, i like the tesco desert sauces, crusty pie bases, 'value' trifles, big tubs of yoghurt.....

any other recommendations?

Somerfiled Tyldesley, as they know what I do, so sometimes if tins are dented etc, I get them cheap.

Tesco mainly. ASDA don't do their own brand custard in 1kg cartons, only 500g ones, but Tesco do the bigger size.

Have tried using Ambrosia (which comes in 1kg cartons from any shop) but while the boxes look nicer, it's also a lot thicker and hence harder to pour smoothly into someone's outfit.

My top 2 shops are Tesco and Poundland.

If you keep an eye on Poundland they quite often have things like custard and porridge and cake mix in and despite the advert saying "Everything is £1" they are usually 3 for £1 or Buy 1 Get 1 Free.
