Captain Splosh

Postby happysplosher » 25 Apr 2008, 22:34

I'm not sure if this has been spotted already by someone else, but whilst disposing of some pamphlets Anglian Water sent me a while ago, I happened to notice they are using a cartoon character to promote the teaching of the proper use of water to children. The character is called Captain Splosh and appears to have had a custard pie thrown at him, albeit not very accurately. I can't help but wonder if whoever created the character is also a splosher him or herself.

Didn't someone have T shirts for sale like the one this Captain Splosh is wearing? If so, are they still available? They might prove useful for identifying fellow messers at meetings held in pubs and other public places.

If Bill is Captain Splosh, does that make Hayley the first mate?

Or is this post just a gratuitous excuse to imagine Hayley in a female pirate get-up, tied to the wheel of her ship, which has been captured by gunge-pirates, and having several gallons of stolen syrup poured into her lovely clean britches, from where it collects in her big leather boots, followed by several tiswas-style flans to her frilly-shirted chest and a bucket of bilgewater over her head?

Yohoho....

Hayley does have some piratey gear as it goes, including the big boots, and we have had a bit of a silly session in the sea together in warmer times. I may not be Johnny Depp (more a fat Mackenzie Crook) but she looks cool in it. So all hands to those bilge pumps, me hearties!

Yup, I do have some pirate like jackets and the boots. Though I leave the eyepatch off since I've been to Specsavers.

Piemates of the Caribbean anyone?

Bill's First Mate (well, only mate, to be honest!)
