Remember, Stockingman, UMD is an American web site. All the cultural differences in the world.
For example, have you ever noticed that the females are very thin, likely to have had plastic and reconstructive surgery, and are very young.
All fits the US demographic.
UK women, on the other hand, are true amaturers (sp) or semi-pros who genuinely like splosh.
Dolly, I suspect, would not have much luck pursuing her vocation in Southern California or Texas.
Which is a shame.

And as a Canadian male wammer with a liking for curvee women, I prefer it here too. Mellower people, almost no negativity even when issues like the pricetag of what looked like a fabulous wam party come up and a definite lower degree of rules.

Im starting to get a little fed up with UMD myself. Too many fussy, opinionated, judgemental, conservative people over there in my opinion. I think the type of pie stuff I do is better received here. And I know there is a shortage of dedicated pie sites here as well. Half of all my download sales come from the UK anyway. And I like the vibe in general. Lots of hip, openminded people on this board.

I have said hi over there once but wont be going back again. Its not a patch on this place for a start, and now I am glad I dont bother with it as I hear worse and worse reports all the time about this nastiness on there.
You know what it is though - you tv/cd babes out there are very convincing, and they dont like being convinced! They basically could find themselves turned on or attracted to pics of a convincing tv and react to this as a threat to their nice , safe defined bubble of sexuality as they understand it to be 'straight'. They can't just shrug and say 'woah, you were really convincing, cool.....' and realise that doesnt in the slightest affect their 'straight' status at all, they just get agressive - sadly for some out there remaining ignorant and getting agressive is going to be the only reaction they are capable of, instead of a spot of deep thought and acceptance.

Whilst being pleased with how happy people seem to be with our own forum, I feel that we should reiterate that we are NOT in competition with UMD and feel it serves its purpose well within the community.
Yes, it is unfortunate that people there have a narrower outlook on the fetish and are very staunch about what they like, but luckily there are places where that doesn't happen.
Come one, come all, and all that jazz.

Obviously neither Hayley nor I are in any position to comment on UMD either but we can comment about our forum.
From the start the idea here was to be open minded and embrace WAM and sploshing in all its forms by/with the people who enjoy it regardless of age, sex, size or sexual orientation. We try an avoid judgmental discussions of the "But is it WAM?" variety cos if it's WAM to the person practising it that's all that matters.
Speaking as a fat, ugly, not-very-young person I don't see why I shouldn't be allowed to have as much messy fun as a bronzed Adonis and the same applies to all the women out there. It's not just about producing stuff that 'looks good' for a certain type of person to view, it is about having fun.
Forums on all subjects (even Radio 2!) attract a number of small-minded bigots who seem to enjoy the cyber equivalent of knocking on doors and running away. They come on, say something rude, feel better about their own sad little lives for some reason then go back to normal safe in relative anonymity. Why people enjoy this I have no idea but it exists all over not just in WAM. All I can say is that rather than court controversy or 'healthy debate' as these people invariably call it we try to be as non-judgmental as possible. Of course we aren't all going to like everything posted here but that is no reason to be nasty to the person concerned. By all means say it's not to your taste, but don't diss the person for doing it.
God, I sound like a hippy!
Enough tree-hugging hippy shit as Cartman would say, just play nicely!

I'm in no way defending UMD peeps on this, but I think you may have over generalised about Americans a couple of times in this thread. I'm not sure they are all plastic repressed homophobes

A conservative fetish forum

Only in America...
Actually, i do agree with the above post about generalization* of Americans. I spend a lot of time in the states and well... my conclusion is that there are X times as many people there so it's easier to find lumps of people, demographics etc than in the UK.
I don't think it's a UK/U.S thing mainlyl, i think it's more to do with the commercialization (I'm sorry, i am English but this is an American Mac and insists on correcting my spelling like that!) of a fetish. UMD is the biggest forum for the fetish and actually one of the biggest and well focussed fetish communities about.
This forum is a little smaller and full of like minded people, it's not about selling stuff so much and a lot more localised in terms of the UK and for visitors from elsewhere will feel a lot more localised (I will just live with the red lines under those "ised") and personal.
For that reason, wether it would be welcome or not i am in no way inclined to pimp my site here. UMD is my ground for that. I have stuck my head in here because a few people have told me what it has become.
On the subject of UMD... i like the idea of making a little mark on a topic to what will be inside, i have had my stomach turned by a few sights of guys in various sort of ways. I have no issue with people posting what they want, it's simply that i am a heterosexual guy and a little piece of DNA is unimpressed and letting me know... i just don't want to see it. A marker in the sense of a few letters m/cd etc would save me and a majority of people a few clicks and maybe some visions they could live without. Not here so much 'cos everyone knows who everyone is and will learn who's posts they avoid... but on UMD where it is a commercial centre and hence has one major demographic ruling the roost i am not suprised people complain... the majority are looking for hot chicks covered in goo and that's what the majority of the material is.
Curiously, my last 3 girlfriends have been American (Californian, texan and a mixture of both). 2 met over here and one in the states i am with currently. American women to me have come across more with the ability to say what's on their mind and judge less on first impressions. I have found myself more comfortable with 3 U.S girlfriends than i have with god knows how many English ones i have had over the years.
Food for thought...

Some very interesting thoughts coming out on this thread.
Re: The body image debate. I have to say that, whilst most of the sites in the US tend to feature younger and skinnier models, I have also seen more mature and 'well built' women too. Despite being about as British as it's possible to be without becoming Stephen Fry, I have to say that my personal preference is for the former(*) (especially if tall & leggy) though I'm pleased for the many here who are far more realistic than I am and are delighted by the latter.
(*) This may have something to do with the fact that I am also tall and (was) skinny (less so these days) and probably now a 'hopeless case' as a result - totally unrealistic I know but I can't help falling for that type every time!
Regarding the other site, Noise makes some interesting points. I have no problem, as a CD, with the idea of labelling a post 'CD' for those who don't want to see it but, at the same time, I'm constantly bemused that people will be on a fetish site and yet intolerant of any fetish other than their own. "My fetish is fine but yours is gross" seems to be the way it works, which is, if nothing else, a little narrow-minded. (Surely an oxymoron when applied to fetishes; hence the puzzlement.) I, too, happen not to be gay so I like to look at all the lovely ladies but I don't run screaming from the room with an attack of the vapours if I happen to see a bloke's knob. I know what one looks like and, in 2-D form, it's hardly something to be scared of. I'm not particularly bothered about it and don't go searching them out but it's more a case of 'so what' when you encounter one. (I'd certainly be more uncomfortable if it was in person at a real meet-up, mind ... but it isn't.) {Thinks - it's possible that the female members of the forum are delighted when they do stumble across such pics. I don't know - you'll have to ask them. Perhaps more of those might bring in more female wammers ... or perhaps not.}
However, what I and many others object to is not the fact that these people are not sufficiently mature to take that attitude but that they will be hideously aggressive, rude, threatening etc. and basically hound people off the forum there, simply because they happen to be different to them.
In my dictionary, that's called intolerance and I don't see that it's appropriate there (or, indeed, anywhere). That's what people are objecting to.

C_W.

I agree with what DD (and others) said ... it's not healthy to start up with a 'them versus us' debate - whether it's Splosh/UMD or UK/USA.
I disagree with the neccessity to label posts as male WAM or CD WAM. What's next? Warning - fat ugly woman?
I much prefer an attractive young woman with a slim(ish) body, but it doesn't horrify me if an older woman wants to show us her 'jelly'. Or if some bloke wants to show everyone his cock.
There are enough slim, attractive, young women posting on Splosh to keep me coming back for more. The other pics that come with it just add colour and variety. Ta!
