London Meet ' 4th Birthday ' - . . . 03/04/08 . . . !!!!!!!

Postby LondonMeet » 16 Feb 2008, 23:56

.
Following the huge success of the last London Meet and after many requests for another meet.

We bring you the April 2008 London Meet which we believe is our 4th anniversary. . . .
:D 8) :D

The Date: THURSDAY 3RD APRIL 2008
The Time: FROM 6PM TIL LATE
The Location: THE PENDERELS OAK, HOLBORN
Contact Number: 0750 688 7825 (not 7285, make sure you have the correct number)

:D 8) :D 8) :D

The full address for the meet is The Penderels Oak, 283-288 High Holborn, WC1V 7HP and the nearest tube stations are Holborn or Chancery Lane, if you need any more help please call us on the number above. :D :D :D

The Penderels Oak is nice and big and has 2 bars (one on the street level and another basement bar downstairs). We will be located in the main upstairs bar as near the main entrance to the pub as we can be. As you enter the main door there are some leather sofas directly ahead and we aim to be in or close to that area.

To find the right group quickly look out for easy_as_ wearing his famous shirt (which believe it or not blends in well with the pub!!! - So look carefully LOL! ) and look out for Smiley (James) who will be wearing a smiley face yellow T Shirt. If you can't see us call the London Meet mobile on 0750 688 7825. 8)

The pub serves a very good selection of ales, wine, beers, spirits, alcopops and cocktails. There is also a wide range of soft drinks to go with the 'pub grub menu' which includes on a Thursday a curry night! This pub has a late license so it does not close till 1am meaning more flexibility on when you want to leave. :D :) :D :)

WHAT IS A LONDON MEET ?

The idea of these meets are for people from the wam community to meet other fellow wammers, old and new. It’s a top excuse to sink lots of beer, discuss all things wet and messy, plan future events and generally get to know each other a little better in real life. It is also a great place to offer your services, buy and sell wam stuff and have fun ! However, don’t worry we don’t always talk about wam. A lot of other general chitter-chatter goes on too so feel free to talk about anything you like!

I'M NOT FROM LONDON CAN I COME ?

Anyone and everyone who wants to come is invited, so come along ! ! ! The London Meet is open to all, we have had many people come a long way from far and wide to be there.

Phantom, Dolly and Maddy and Piesplatter have clocked up the most international air miles to be with us and join the fun. On a more regular basis we cant forget the efforts of Wamedeus, 123gunge, Leon, Big Dave, i_like_pie, Bob K and Dids and Cede. :D :D

This is not forgetting the others who have made the 'big trip', if we haven't mentioned you here already ! ! !. We wonder who will be next on the 'leaderboard' ?. 8) :D :D :D

LONDON AGAIN ! WHY ?

Meets happen in London because it suits wammers living in or near London but it also suits people coming from the NW, NE, SE and even SW of England. Those that have traveled down, along or up to London often combine business or leisure with the the trip. For example some people have done shopping while others have gone to the theatre - not that it is for us to tell you what to do :D .

London is an easy place to commute to with great transport links.

The ' London Meet ' is fairly well established now and have a regular core group of people who attend. It would make no sense to go from a town to another organizing get-togethers in different places. The great news is these days lots more action is happening outside London, such as Leeds, Warrington and possibly one being in Nottingham, so currently you have three active and one potential 'Meet' to choose from. Other areas are planning ' Meets ' too, look out for your nearest gathering !!!! Or organize one !!!!

Well, that's it – pop you name on the list if you want to come along.

Any questions please pm us, if you need any more information or help then please do not hesitate to call the London Meet number on 0750 688 7825.

See you there!

:D :)

Just in case there's anyone from the North-west who can't make it to London and still wants to meet, can I just remind them that the next Warrington meeting is scheduled for the 3rd Saturday afternoon of April (19th).

Hope to see some of you there!

"WAM meet!", cried a voice from the ranks
"To celebrate four years - and thanks
For the chat and the cheer,
The laughs and the beer,
The producers, the models, the ..."

Sorry - couldn't quite find that last rhyme....

Oh - count me in, by the way!
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

Ok guys and gals, enough about certain individuals, please, before this thread becomes something it is not intended to be.

That people will come if they want to and not come if they don't want to, is about the best way to sum up the points made above.

This thread is not the place to discuss the ' whys and wherefores ' .

Your genial co-host,

As ever,

Hmm, Andy !

. . . . it is never nice to lose but to lose so badly, in terms of performance. When playing what is arguably your largest domestic rival it is spectacularly awful. Still, there is Europe and the League so all is not done yet. Your boys simpy wanted it more, specifically Rooney and it has to be bad when Fletcher is credited with scoring two goals against you !!!! I believe the abbreviation is . . . WTF ?

Now I need a lie down, none of that was nice to have to write, all I can say is thank God I'm not a Liverpool fan . . . .

I would just like to say hi to Jammed and Candy and welcome them along to the Meet as Newbies ! All the good things you have heard are true ! Similarly good to see the regulars back for another evening of good company and beverage of choice !

:D
