Great pics Clown Julie. Looks like a good set up. what was the story line
if you don't mind me asking? You would have been wonderful in the part
and with your touch would have been even messier.
And Swing It!!!

Great scene, Julie. (And swing it - sorry). I would be interested in a list of potential slosh panto scenes this year. Hasting will be dry as a bone as ever! Bring back Clive Webb

"thoroughly sloshed and pied in all 24 performances including two a day on Saturdays."

I get this sudden urge to take up panto.

That's all I can find at the moment - any others?

People clearly think we southerners are meant to be too sophistcated for slapstick! They don't know Hastings very well!

Oh yes they do!

Seriously, I think these days there's a lot of "must do something new" in the entertainment business, which results in loads of not very good, but "avant garde" stuff. Large parts of the business have forgotten that in general people like what they like, and while they may like new twists or angles, in general they mostly want what they already know they enjoy.

You see the same thing in opera, art directors taking classic works and making horrible political statements, or trying to set them on space stations, or use minimal sets, etc. Just give us the traditional version! And ditto for slapstick.

Yay for Panto, a truly British thing :-)

Loved the setup and plot Julie. Nice to see clowing slapstick is still going on in Panto's.

I love the idea of mixing the shaving foam with the eggs and peas and will have to try that. I have done similar with Rice Pudding and coloured foam and that makes lovely thick pies with a slightly lumpy texture that splat and then stick really well.

Thanks for the inspiration

Being a lover of slosh style slapstick, I really appreciate these Panto routines Julie!

Oh and the mixing of mushy peas and shaving foam sounds a bit of a masterstroke! A tiny bit nasty, a bit naughty, but all good fun!

Loved the Youtube clip you posted last week as well!
