The rumour has been for ages that Hayley was an alto ego created by Bill

The bad thing is "He voiced a rumor" as in something that can very easily be untrue. Problems with rumors is that those can hurt a
person feelings especialy when they are not true. Hayley probably
really hates the idea that people may believe she's not real.

And the word of the day in both of those? Rumour.

While it may or may not be rumoured that Hayley is real, or not real, the fact remains it is just that. We as a community should not bandy around rumours that are unsubstantiated, and unproven. Whats the point, lest for the sake of gossip?

And dropping from my high and mighty for a moment, I fully believe Hayley is real. Hell, there are more than a few people around here who have met and spent time with her, so why should this rumour even exist?



I hope you stick around Hayley - your wit, charm and personality brighten up a lot of the topics and posts littered around this forum. Hollow words perhaps, coming from someone who posts once in a blue moon, but you'd be sorely missed! Not sure which of the two threads this belongs in.

First of all, thank you to those who have voiced support for my allegedly ficticious friend and colleague. She has worked extremely hard for Splosh! and it was her that set this forum up in the first place, so there is an irony if it is the thing that stops her being involved any further. At the moment she is still considering what to do which in her case involves a lot of shouting and swearing.

I am deeply suspicious about the offending post. It seems odd to me that somebody should join the forum just to complain about a very innocuous story that she posted as a genuine thank you to a guy she met (it is his one and only post). This means either he is a new member and a deliberate troublemaker or he is one of our handful of regular troublemakers who has given himself a new ID to cause still further offence. Either way it is an unpleasant thing to do.

Of course I am aware of the 'rumours' regarding me inventing Hayley. Apart from finding this personally insulting as it implies I couldn't possibly have a partner as attractive as her (it is unlikely - but you don't know the history behind it - or the size of my nob!), it is simply unfeasible that Splosh! has happened entirely singlehanded - certainly back in the magazine days when the sheer quantity of mailing alone would have been a full time job. You could argue that she doesn't do all the things she says but not that she doesn't exist!

Now, we don't do magazines and mail outs, there is no need for her to work for Splosh! as much as she did (not to mention her kids growing up making her available for real jobs), so she has returned to full time work. This is considered "convenient" by the conspiracy theorists but is a simple reality - she needs a job and Splosh! can't provide it like it used to. Her work in turn means that I see less of her, there's less time for messy activities, and the downward spiral starts.... Again all very suspicious if seen from one angle. All very logical in reality. As for Meets...she hates social functions of almost every sort unless she knows everyone really well and can relax. She was probably shitting herself when Steve appeared at the weekend. So I have never forced her to go to a get-together because I know how uncomfortable she would feel. Leave it to the models with sites to promote, I say.

Together we have tolerated the rumours and occasionally vicious PMs and just got on with turning stuff out. I think what has made the difference this time was the accusation that she was insulting people's intelligence by what she writes. Her view is that if people feel that a bit of flirtatious banter and saucy anecdotes from a middle aged woman is stupid then she will stop. I for one will be desperately sad if she does cos I know how much pleasure it gives her (when she's not being slagged off) and she is very good at it. Far better than I would be if I was 'making it up' (time would be a fine thing!).

Anyway, thanks to Julie for this 'tribute' thread. As I said, no definite decisions have been made by Her Outdoors just yet, and we will see how she feels when she stops shouting.

My girlfriend often has a similar experience when we work on a project together, i.e. she gets completely ignored. People still think she exists, however, so it's not quite that extreme.

I wouldn't get that worked up about it. All the guy said was "I don't think Hayley exists", a conspiracy theory which is kind of funny really. And he was polite.

I too think Hayley should stay. Just laugh it off.

I for one will be very sad if Hayley leaves, as she has always put me back on the right track, whenever I cock up!!!!! (trust me their have been a few, just not aired on the board.)

I regularly pm Bill and e-mail Hayley for advice, as now I have moved forward with my films etc, I get footage sent to me some of which I need second opions on 9/10 I'll email Hayley. As she will come back with the correct answer. Yes you can say that sometimes she does appear to dish out a bit of tough love, though its never done me any harm.

Again as you can now read, Hayley has helped me, without ever asking for me to say anything on the board, though now I feel compled to say something as I acutaly value her as a friend.

For what it's worth i'll add my please stay request to Hayley. We met years ago and i know how much Bill relied on her in the early days of SPLOSH.

But even if some of the things written haven't been 100% true...so bloody what! Hayleys existence has meant a tremendous amount to the many regular contributors on the Forum aside from her sense of humour and ability to titilate with many of her posts!!

There is no reason why Haley would never turn up to at least one Wam event...

Come on Bill come clean, you must sometimes write under the alias of Haley. the benefits over the years are obvious...

Conspiracy theorists would also point out that there is only ever one animation of Haley which is the same one as from the video. If Haley really did exist why is there just one video of her?

Sightings or her are as rare as the lock ness monster!!
