I purchased beans, spaghetti, cake mix, tomato soup, and eggs today, and since pumpkins were on sale, to be festive, I bought a pumpkin(Halloween is coming this month in the states). The girl bagged my "groceries", and asked if I wanted the pumpkin in a bag. I said no, I can carry it. She said, "Don't drop it, you don't want to make a mess; Or do you", and she gave a head nod to my bags of "groceries". I smiled and replied, "Making a mess doesn't bother me" and high tailed it the hell out of there! LOL Looks like I need to find a new place to do my shopping!

I'm pretty sure I did, I figured I'd put this blurb up with the slim chance she might be a member of the forum.

I think more and more people are admitting to liking the idea of getting messy. Always goes down well with the people I chat to.
You soooo shouldn't give up shopping there, Goodwrench. On the contrary, you may have found a kindred spirit. The cash & carry we use know EXACTLY what we do with our stuff and they seem only too keen to help us with our orders (especially if it is me or another woman who picks it up!). People saying stuff like that out of the blue can be a shock but you really should see it as a positive thing. Something to flirt with....
Okay counselling over

Last year I had a "self-messing" session when I used some Golden Syrup, Later in the day I saw a friend of mine and she gave me a kiss and hug like she always does and she asked me why I smelled a bit of Golden Syrup
, So I thought "In for a penny in for a pound" and told her expecting her to freak out but she though it was hilarious and almost pissed her knickers laughing
Needless to say we've got messy together quite a few times now
.
Like others have said there's seems to be quite a few people out there who maybe want to try getting messy and just haven't got the "Bottle" to tell anyone until they find out a friend gets messy themselves.

HaHa! Wamram, taht reminds me of when I was in high school. I had wammed with maple syrup the night before, and during school the following day, all the students were crammed into the gym bleachers for a presentation, and the kid sitting next to me goes, *sniff* *sniff*, "I smell waffles! Do you smell wafffles?" I was like, nope, not a clue what you're talking about.
Anyway, I'll prob deff go back to that same store, they have the best prices around. If there's more to this story, I'll keep you posted!

Did the girl act like she was disapproving of you? Or was it more of a friendly joke? Perhaps the next time you see her, you might make a note of how she behaves towards you.

I've had a bit of an uncomfortable moment when I was told "make the most of it" by the checkout lady when leaving with two cakes and a dozen eggs. I think I mumbled something and got out of there as quickly as I could.
Looking back, she might've thought I was having a party or something, but it was still a bit freaky.
Your checkout person sounds interesting, though. Keep shopping there and see what happens.

I think tesco's self-service check-out gave me a knowing beep and what might have been a deliberate blinking screen the last time I went splopping (terrible word but I couldn't resist
) but unfortunately that's about as much of a response as I've gotten
