Seriously though does anybody know what is involved in whole bodypainting?
Do you have to put on some sort of barrier cream first?
Where do you get the silver paint from?
How do you get it off afterwards?
Must admit i'd like a try

The basic stuff is like facepaint and washes off easily. (There's a theatre makeup shop in the street just south of Covent Garden market if you are in London early enough next week - Charles Fox. Nice people.) If you want the very high gloss you have to put a pigment into an oil base (olive oil works) and then everything you touch turns silver. That rinses off really easily too. Both are non toxic. I'll bring a bottle of the facepaint style stuff to the pub on Wednesday so you can see.
When the film 'Goldfinger' came out in 1964, great play was made of Shirley Eaton's part when her character was 'murdered' by being painted all over in gold. I remember reading that an area of skin on her back had to be left unpainted to allow the skin to 'breathe'. I don't know if that was really the thinking of the time or if it was just some publicity blurb. I can't believe that real gold leaf was used (that might have justified the claim).
Bottoms Up!
