OFF-TOPIC: Need outfit help :)

Postby MessyGuyNC » 07 Sep 2007, 15:48

So I have been invited to go industial-goth show put on by a fetish club entertainment company. While I THOROUGHLY enjoy photos of such events and the woman there.... I have never been to one and its far outside my comfort zone.

Here is the show:

Here is the company preforming:
http://www.purgatory-theshow.com/

So I was hoping the guys and gals here could help me out a bit (Since you guys are the most kink'd people I know).

1) How would I dress as a 'Sexy Farmer' to one of these things? I have tight black PVC pants... but thats about it. I can go out and by stuff though.

2) What should I expect?

Hope you dont mind this Off-topic post :-/

We aren't really goths so can't say. Dungeonmaster is your guy, perhaps you should PM him.

Sorry for late reply, been busy and not logged on for a while.

Goth / Industrial and Farmer style? Interestng combination!

Not sure if such a thing is available but I'd be inclined to suggest black PVC dungarees. Though on a guy that could end up looking a bit "Village People" so perhaps not.

Generally, if someone who isn't from the scene is going to a Goth event I'd usually reccomend black combat trousers and some variation on black t-shirt / black long-sleeve T under a black short-sleeve shirt. Depending on how much you want to spend, normal black work boots / black walking boots, or if you want to spend a bit more (over £100 in the UK), New Rock boots.

Back to the farmer theme, I quite often go clubbing in black boilersuits, worn with New Rocks, and a hefty studs-and-chains leather belt, partly for practicality and partly for style (can you get a more "industrial" outfit?). 8) You could try something like that? Though look for a suit that fits well, poss buy a size smaller than reccomended as they're usually worn over clothes, where you'll be wearing it just over underwear.

The basic rule for Goth clubs is "black, black, and more black", while you will see people wearing colour, you really have to know how to do it properly (we had a matched pair of "Goth Blues Brothers" in black hats, back trousers, black waistcoats, and red shirts at a club I went to last night). Though black and white (as in a band t-shirt that is white on black) works well on most people.

Let us all know how you get on and what you end up wearing!

Thanks for the advice..... I'll poke around a bit and see what I can come up with. Maybe by mon or tue I can post a pic or two of what I am going in.

More importantly though..... what should I expect?!

The club is going to be industrial-goth, but the entertainment is going to be fetish.....

So what do I expect from a 'fetish night' and they advertise as interactive?

Does this mean (for a cost I am sure) I would have the opportunity to par-take in some form fetish activity with a professional dom (which is what I would pay money for) ??

How about the people.....

Can you tell I am nervous and excited at the same time?

Spike from the tv show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". It WOULD work, but the coat and stuff will run you a penny or five.

as for me, as I have been loving the gothic/industrial scene here in Colorado, I might suggest some combat pants of ANY camo-style with combat boots and a fishnet shirt under a black short-sleeve shirt with holes in it. Either that or hit just about any shop that specialises in that type of apperal in your area, let them know where you are going and that you need ideas. They SHOULD be able to help. Sorry I cant give you any photo-ideas for something better.
And that is all I am willing to type right now

I've only ever been to a couple of fetish events, both times being the big Carnival of Souls events they hold in Derby. Those were "interactive" in that they provided playroom equipment in various places throughout the venue which visitors were welcome to use / try out. Don't think there were "pay to play" people there though, though there were lots of ads for more intimate fetish events (and I *think*, some Doms / Dominatrix, though I might be getting that mixed up as I know people on the BDSM scene and may have some of their flyers in mind).

On both occasions I was there it was due to music rather than fetish, so I wasn't paying that much attention to the SM side of things.

I think generally the bigger, advertised events are mainly showcases and contact points, ways to get in contact with people who can take you further into the scene.

However it being a fetish event means you can expect to see some outrageous costumes, lots of leather, PVC, cross-dressing, and generally wild outfits. There'll also be a strict dress code I'd expect, so Goth / Fetish / Industrial gear will be OK (including any of the suggestions above), but no blue jeans, no trainers, no sportswear / chav gear, etc.

I had this from a previous Halloween where I went as my gf's sex slave.

I can go with this... maybe add a few things (hopefully borrow a friends spikes). Though I have will admit.... I feel uncomfortably exposed in it. Life I said, out side my element :)

What do people think though? should I add anything to it?

really big fuck-off shiny boots would work good, something like New Rocks brand or Doc Martens or Demonia name brands spring to mind, but the outfit is good as-is.

Hubba hubba!

Loving the jeans. As they say, get some Rocks or Demonias and you'd look cool as fuck. Ebay has a few bargains most weeks. If you have a leather/PVC jacket that might overcome the 'exposure' worry but I reckon it will be hot in there so just go with it.

You'll get some great offers!

Any thing other than $100 boots? Really can't justify to myself spending that much on boots I will probably only wear once or twice (at best) a year....

And what type of 'offers' do you mean hayley?

BTW, thanks for the compliment ;) Now if I could just find a gf who nows how to treat me when I dress up like this.

well, if you dont want to spend that much on boots, have you thought of going to an Army Surplus store? some of the boots there would work, especially the jungle-boots. they come as cheep as 25 bucks for some types. Just be sure to go for the combat boots and not some hiking boot style.
And that is all I am willing to type right now
