I happened to read the 'sticky post' about spam messages and Bill's comment got me thinking....

Bill Shipton wrote:I know nothing about these things. All I do is come up with obvious slapstick gags for videos and film them, sometimes rather poorly.

Has anyone used the obvious (to me anyway) joke about the 'officer's mess?' I can image girls in camoflage/khakis covered in all sorts of gloop - all in the name of a simple word pun.........

ps. I think you film things rather well Bill.... my Splosh video collection is rather large!!

She was only the sergeant's daughter, but she was full of the officer's mess. (Old joke).

Hi

I know Officer's Mess is an idea on the back burner cos I get the uniforms off Ebay! I think his version is more like a court martial for food fighting where the officer has to demonstrate what she did and gets punished in similar fashion - or something.

I know he has at least two WRAF uniforms cos I've worn one myself!

Hayley

PS Thanks for the idea though. I'm sure Bill is happy to accept puns from anyone!

Many years ago I saw a sketch on the Russ Abbot show on the TV. From what I can remember there were a group of people dressed as officers sitting around a table throwing food at each other.

The punchline at the end uttered by Russ Abbot was "Well this is the officers mess!"

Thats about all I can remember about it - it must have been sometime in the early 80's

I knew it had to have been done somewhere.... wasn't expecting Russ Abbot though..... thanks....

ps.... looks like my question has inspired Bill to open the big Splosh! cupboard and pull out another excellent photoset/video.... I must remember to ask similar questions in future!!!

oh, to have unrestricted access to the big Splosh! cupboard!

bring on the Splosh! archive site!
