Television people, doncha just love them?
As some of you will already know, the producers of The Graham Norton Show want to film an item about sploshing on Tuesday afternoon (filming between 4pm and about 8pm) and given us exactly 5 days notice!
The idea is that a group of sploshers will be in a separate room from the main show demonstrating what is involved with a 'live link-up' (it's actually just another studio!). One of the studio audience may also have to join in.
They are looking for men and women to take part and will pay a small fee. The show is based in London.
The item will be light hearted and funny, they say, but Graham Norton is not exactly known for refraining from being bitchy so he would almost certainly be taking the piss to some extent. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
Not sure, I can do it myself (and not recommending or dismissing it for others) BUT if you are interested, post here and I will try and put a group together for them.
Please don't post your desire to join in when you are pissed or wake up with a stiffy, and then change your mind. Only seriously interested people, please.
Now if they'd have given us a month, it would have been so much easier...

I was in line for this, but apparently it would cost them too much to fly me over, so no go!
I was dubious myself, I don't want to be made out to be a sad custard tossing twonk when im not!
But I could be wrong, it might be positive and fun
Good luck to anyone who can get there!

You could always chin him if he takes to much of the piss.

I too recieved this email, after chatting to Bill and Dolly, I watched his show last night (never bothered before it was that good!!) anyway, as Bill as has said all he appears to do is take the piss out of people and basically be-little them. Plus the post show editing is done by a fim he owns to produce his shows.
As Dolly explained in a pm you could go on the show give as good as you get and all he has to do is edit it out. Then he can make you look a right prat. Plus you dont have the rights to the vid from the event.
I am all for getting us on tv, as long as it looks the part.
I personally will not be attending this.
regards
Andy

I think it is totally understandable that people who aren't 'in the 'WAM business' professionally don't want to take part in a show like this. There is the job to consider, Norton's attitude that all members of the public are there for celebs to make fun of and the simple fact that you are not as skilled at being on TV as they are going to be.
The professionals (for want of a better word) have a bigger dilemma. Do they get on their high horse and refuse cos Graham Norton is so judgmental and run the risk of him doing the item anyway and ripping the piss even more or do they go along with it, roll over and play dead and hope that they come over as game for a laugh cos they were prepared not to take themselves too seriously?
As it stands it looks like there will be an item on the show on Thursday with a group of people (probably models, maybe including Gilly) staging something messy. If Norton takes the piss, so be it, that's his act, but we can only do our best - and give people an unbiased description of what they might be getting themselves into.

i like the graham norton show and as said the "link" sections are there to entertain the veiwers at the peoples ( would be us) expense, the best way to deal with it would be to get stuck in to the fun of it and basically not really take any notice of what he was saying and then it would be like " there enjoying it too much to notice me (Norton)"
i wont be able to go as i've been out the "show" light for a while now
maybe if there was more time i would have considered it too
