Leeds Splunch II - the revenge

Postby TottyMcGee » 08 Jun 2007, 23:24

A few people have asked me lately if I was planning on organising another Leeds Splunch following the success of the last one - originally I was going to wait until the Autumn, but what the hell, if we do a summer one it means we've got time to plan stuff while the weather's still nice should we so desire (the current thinking with the Messy Bear's Picnic for example is to make it an invite only affair with Splunches used as a way for newcomers to come and introduce themselves and join the clique).

I spoke to Paula at Blayds again today and have two possible dates to throw out, those being Saturday 14th July and Saturday 4th August. I'm planning on using Saturday again as it's the most flexible day for people coming from out of town, but am open to suggestions if people would prefer another day of the week this time.

So, how are you all fixed?

Sat the 4th August would suit me better, as I appear to be all over the place in July.

Hi Darren! :)

Basically it's just a chance to eat, drink and be merry with a load of other sploshers, get to know each other properly and maybe even plan stuff. No play goes on and it's all very relaxed - as for being private, we have a room to ourselves in a pub that is itself discreetly tucked away in a back alley, so there's no danger of being bothered by the general public. Hope to see you at the next one! :)

So, that's one vote for 4th August then.. hmm, maybe I should have made this into a poll. {edit} sorted!

Looks like the popular choice right now is the 4th August, especially with Stockingman going as far as to go ahead and book a room (I think that's what's known as a fait accompli, but thanks for the vote of confidence! :) ). I'll see about getting it finalized early next week, so if anyone hasn't voted or posted yet, please do so ASAP.

Thanks to everyone for showing interest, let's make this one even better than the last! :)

Just tell us when it is Helen and we will be there any saturday you want.

To any newbies thinking of going, it is well worth it, its a laugh. Don't be nervous we don't all bite, only Mandy does sometimes.

See ya all there xxx
Whoops, I did it again.

Okey doke, I've gone ahead and booked it for the 4th August (I'll sort out the official release in a bit) - it seems popular and has a nice balance between allowing everyone to get sorted out ready and leaving lots of summertime afterwards in case we plan anything subsequently.

For those who cannot make this date, I apologise, but I plan to do another Splunch in the Autumn, so look forward to seeing you then! :)

In response to Miss Helen booking the event, I have now booked my room at the travelodge Leeds central, its a tad more expensive, though it is only a hundred yards from the event, quite handy really.
