The Weeping Bog

Postby TottyMcGee » 27 May 2007, 11:17

I've a had a few requests from people wanting to see me sinking to my doom rather than just wallowing about and, dark bugger that I am, I'm more than happy to oblige.

I'd already decided to do this in vague period costume (having assembled an outfit of that sort), but didn't have a full plot in mind until we did the approach shots and I remembered TE Monogrammist's striking image of Ophelia walking to her doom with a sly smile, so I ended up loosely basing it on that theme.

There are two versions of this sequence; my faourite way of presenting it, and the first version of the video, ends with a fade to black soon after I have sunk all the way under. Then I chickened out and decided that a video of an apparent suicide might be just the thing to finally get us kicked off youtube, so added on footage of me coming back out again with the message "No people, animals or transvestites were harmed during the making of this scene". But I haven't posted up either video yet, so I'm up for suggestions to help me choose (if, for example, you want to put me up to posting the suicide one).

The full photoset of this is up now on the Wamdrogony main site. After cleaning off and getting changed, I couldn't resist going under again in another outfit - but I'll save that for another time! :)

<edit> - nuts, I thought I'd got the hang of the reverse-order-pic-posting-thing, don't know what went wrong this time. Oh well..

Core, lummy, Miss!
Posh poetry too!!

But to answer your question....
I would like to see you come up out of the bog or I might have nightmares that you are lost forever to the bog fairies who live deep down below.

Fair enough, maybe this is a bit too serious (not to mention the totally uncalled-for use of unparodied Shakespeare). So here's some coming out and cleaning up pictures. :)

No secret that I would be too scared to do this. I like bring totally emersed in stuff but get frightened by the sinking feeling, so all the more praise to Helen for her bravery.

Was deffo a diffrent shoot to say the least, god that mud pit stunk, Miss Helen being the trooper was ready to go in. The first time I've ever shot a full sinking was diffrent to say the least.

I enjoyed it thought was a blast. Was due to go in Astley pond in the blue pjs we got scuppered though by people walking dogs etc.

Here are some shots of Miss Helen doing her wonderwoman covered in mud scene.

regards

Andy

Thanks all! :)

I've now uploaded the video to our Youtube channel, the link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSa8jYyhppY . In the end I compromised; there's still a fade to black after I go under (plus a caption stating "the end?"), but then it fades back up with footage of me emerging safely.

I didn't think the bog smelt bad at all, but then I quite like the smell of organic peat mud anyway. At least this spot had no livestock nearby, so it wasn't awash with cow piss like many similar places. In fact the area as a whole is a picture of cleanliness compared to most of the places I've been - the run-off pond that feeds it all is fantastic to swim in and clean off.

Good to hear that it was nice and clean but the question is how cold was it?

While the mud pit was a little cold on account of being in the shade, the pond is actually surprisingly warm - the sun's been warming it for a couple of months now and it's just the right size to retain the heat. Of course, it's no hot tub, but I felt warmer swimming around in there (even underwater) than I did walking around dry on the bank.

And yes, the mud pit was deep.. in fact, I don't actually know for sure how deep it is in the middle. :p
