The problem with a sploshing band is the matter of protecting the equipment, along with the usual problems with regard to setting up in a venue - you could never appear on a bill with other bands as it would render the stage unusable, all that wet stuff combined with electronics is a health and safety nightmare and properly miking up a singer who's going to get covered in gunge is a particular bother.

However, I have had thoughts in the past about a project along these lines (in particular from when I was doing the Messharmonic Orchestra tracks that accompanied our Wamdrogony videos), so maybe there could be a collaboration in the works here.
It'd be best to approach it as a performance with live music elements rather than a proper band - one idea for a more electronic/industrial based version would be one or two musicians set up behind a clear plastic sheet (this in itself presents an interesting visual if done right, particularly as the sheet gradually gets splattered) with the front people involved in messy performance on a plastic sheeted area at the front of the stage, lip synching to vocal samples in the music - say for example Dolly and Josie were performing in front, I would build the songs around samples of their voices to create the tracks and build the live music side around that. I've even got the barebones arrangement of an EBM version of "The Bucket Of Water" song that'd suit this sort of thing well.

So it's crazy, but it could work and would be a lot of fun putting together. Between us I think we have the collective expertise to make a good go of it at least as a one-off show, should we want to.

Oh - I didn't necessarily mean a sploshing band - just a band...

Funnily enough I've seen something similar from a French Industrial band (can't for my life remember what they were called) the guy was centre stage with the equipment making all the noises for 20 minutes, while the girl was at the back randomly painting onto a canopy in almost pattern with the music.

The music was awful, but I watched the whole thing just incase she decided to use herself as a paintbrush, but alas it never happened...

I know More magazine well as my company used to distribute it. I have no dealings with it myself not handling women's mags, but did get free copies. It's a bit sensational and for a long time was written and edited by blokes which made it rather 'porny' (no idea if this is still true) but it sells very well!

All that is irrelevant though cos it all helps people get used to the idea of sploshing being something people actually do, not just a weird thing dreamt up by porn mag editors.

Hope you enjoyed the bike run in Hastings. Bill tells me it rained which wouldn't have suited me at all - then again big blokes in wet leather...yum!

Having an artist paint in response to the music is something I've seen a few times, it makes for a good event. Be good to give it the Splosh treatment though, mess for the hell of it without having to justify it as serious art.
Anyway, time for a new thead on this particular topic, I feel.

Don't think this is specifically WAM, but talking of paint, last time I was in Thailand I watched an artist paint three pictures, using a naked female model as each canvas, with fluorescent paints under UV lights. The whole thing was set to music, and he worked incredibly quickly, with spectacular results - certainly beats Rolf Harris, in my book anyway!
