I don't think the researcher/judge was, but she certainly is now!

DungeonMasterOne wrote:because my personal POV is that anyone who has an actual WAM fetish (i.e. for whom mess is *always* erotic) shouldn't be involved. Leave it to people for whom messiness is just slapstick fun.

What about people who can see it as being sexual AND fun? You know, as long as they recognise the context - and I think Decadant Doll certainly does. I worry about people who think messyness is ALWAYS sexy - what do these people do if they stumble across a kids TV gunge game show? *shudders*

DungeonMasterOne wrote:But it was a kids show. I watched it as a kid, it was part of my growing up. I don't watch kids TV now, I'm an adult. What was reasonable when I was 11, 16, early 20s even, isn't now I'm approaching 40.

I watched Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow because it was like Tiswas. If Tiswas was still airing now, I'd be watching, here in my early 30s, and I know loads of my mates would.

DungeonMasterOne wrote:These days, if I want to see people sploshing each other, I also want to know that they know that part of the audience is getting an erotic kick out of it.

I don't think that's right - if anything, TV companies would cut down on slapstick (and they probably have) because of that. I don't think slapstick moments on TV should cater to a niche sexual market, it's supposed to be mainstream, a simple and highly visually effective gag.

It's like bikinis. Bikinis can be incredibly sexy... but NOT if they're on a six-year-old! I think the vast majority of people (WAMmers and non-WAMmers alike) know where to draw the line.

Aha - perhaps I didn't word it cearly enough. I'll quite happily watch slapstick comedy purely for its comic element, and I wish there was more of it about. A few years after Tiswas finished I spent many happy hours watching the Harrold Lloyd complilations that Channel 4 used to show, the man was a comic genius and puts most modern "comedy" to deep shame in comparason. We could do with less "reality" shows and more slapstick of all kinds, drenched and pied ladies included.

What I'm getting at is that I don't collect such scenes as a source of WAM material. TBH acted scenes with actual stars in them are probably fair game, movie and TV stars expect to become pin-ups, but to me, I'd feel uncomfortable watching "innocent" members of the public getting gunged/soaked and using that for erotic purposes, knowing the people involved probably had no idea anyone would use the images for erotica.

It's really just part of my personal beliefs.

Agree with you about the "sexing up" of kids stuff being wrong (there was a news report on that just the other day, though the major stores have claimed to have put and end to the practice).

Have to disagree about bikinis being sexy though (Sorry SN&F!), below-the-knee skirts and long-sleeve blouses, proper nurses uniforms, and boilersuits, are much nicer. 8) Well, IMHO at least! :D

Indeedy. Harry Hill did a silent-movie style comedy in the 1990s which was really good. Spike Milligan's stuff was full of it, a really missed comedian.

I'm one of the few men around who finds stockings to be unattractive, because they just constantly remind me of Benny Hill chases and stag/hen/Rocky Horror party nights.

I assume that a few of us have audience tickets for the show by now - I qualified for a pair, so others must also have done so - anyone want to meet on the Monday afternoon prior to the show?
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

It is. There's just so many women out there always wearing stockings and suspenders, and it just torments me. Tights? Bare legs? Just doesn't happen, women aren't interested.

I live in a porn film. So all the girls wear red lipstick, denim mini skirts and their washing machines keep breaking down too.

No fear, we shall at once send round a gaggle of female washing-machine engineers in boilersuits and overalls. Though in fixing the washing machines (and getting thoroughly soaked while staying clothed), they may break the porn movie... :D

I must be honest and say that I don't wear stockings very much at all. And I've never got the suspender thing.

Tights, yes, tight jeans, yes, and many a mini skirt (just to prove that I am be a sexist cliche as well) but rarely stockings. So I am glad not every guy in the world holds them in such high esteem.

Oh dear, my washing machine has just broken down...

I'm glad I can talk on the same level as women, displaying empathy for their plight, and the needless pressures to look attractive just for the male gender's benefit, displaying my respect for the depths female intellect, not for beauty...

...I can usually get a shag that way. :)
