Leeds Splunch - official release

Chat, flirt and fantasise about everything wet and messy

Postby BillShipton » 05 Mar 2007, 01:59

Thanks for missing me, Wamadeus! Though DD sitting on your knee would liven up your evening a lot more than me! Actually, I am feeling distinctly dull just now having failed for a second time to win the pub quiz night (2nd again!). There just aren't enough questions on slapstick comedy!

Do I gather from your post that there is a get-together in Newcastle in April? Perhaps I could take issue with the guys at Viz in person and get pissed with you all as well. But I'm not making any promises this time cos I feel I was such a letdown on this occasion.

Can I echo the comments about Miss Helen's excellent organisation of the event. Thanks for all the work and if you ever get down here we will be happy to reward you in person at the studio.

Yeah, is there another Newcastle meet :)???

Awww Wamadeus im sorry I missed you, hehe I've got rather a drunken pic of me and you from the first London meet on my PC somewhere.

I echo what Bill said, I also feel like somewhat of a letdown and I think Miss Helen brilliant for organising it all.

Oh god, it's 7.25am and I'm awake. This ain't good. lol

Not to worry, you were all there with us in spirit and we'll definitely be doing this again. I'm planning on travelling down with the Gungemaster gang for the meet in Camden on the 30th March and as has been said Wamadeus has invited everyone for a beano in Newky in on the 14th April. Mike Nomic also mentioned the idea of setting something up in Bristol.

Bill - I definitely hope to make it down to your neck of the woods sometime this year! :) I'll be heading down south around Easter time to see my folks on the Isle Of Wight, so I could easily pop across to St. Leonards either on my way there or back.
Was there talk at one point of organising a meet at your local down there?

I'd also like to restate my thanks to everyone who came and made the party swing - when I first set this up I was expecting maybe 7-10 people to show if I was lucky, instead we got over fifteen with several more sending their (sincere) apologies.
Another good sign was that we also had a good balance of the sexes represented; my goal with this (and Bill and Hayley have done a terrific job of running up the Splosh! board with a similar goal in mind) is to establish an alternative do-ers scene, to get away from the spectator led "female models do it and everyone else watches and keeps out of sight" vibe that has dominated elsewhere with all the hangups and conflicts that that brings - similar to how the regular fetish scene has the focus on the doing/lifestyle aspect, with everyone welcome within that. In order to accomplish this it's important to have a good cross-section of all genders and orientations so that everyone coming in can feel welcome and find someone they can relate to. So far it's coming together like a charm and every single person who has been a part of it so far is to thank.

Look forward to getting together with you all soon! :)

Also wondering, is it maybe time to set up a general "Splunch" page somewhere to have information posted that meets all over the place can refer back to. It could also be a central place to post up the various meets organised around the country in one place. I'm happy to do the donkey work in setting it up, perhaps DM might be willing to host it on his server?

I've another idea in the pipeline that I mentioned at the Splunch, but I'll save that for another thread.

Both Lady Jasmine and I had a great time, was nice to meet others with similar tastes, we even got some ideas for a photoset from it (cola bubbles - bubbles in places you didn't know you had places!). Definetly worth the long trek down from the Hall.

Have just spoken to Miss Helen locally regarding the Splunch page idea, should hopefully have the hosting for that up and running later tonight.

Cheers to all who came!

To echo others' thoughts; many, many thanks to Miss Helen for getting this one together. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting such a variety of interesting people from across the Splosh! spectrum.

Jesus H. Christ!! 45p for a slice of lemon! If I'd known that at the time, I wouldn't have left it behind.

All in all a great weekend, tempered a little by learning from my daughter on Sunday morning that while we were making whoopee on Saturday evening my father-in-law died. Shit happens.

I will do my best to try to find the time to organise a Splunch! in Bristol for later in the year. Anyone else local(ish) able/willing to help research clubs/bars/beers, etc? Ta.

Gosh - very sorry to hear about your Father-in-law, Mike. Of course you have our sincere condolences.

Many thanks for coming though, it was great to have you there and thanks for all the cool stories of the old days. 45p for a bit of lemon does seem a bit steep even in a French restaurant; maybe they have a special gourmet chef who is famed far and wide for preparing lemon slices. Mais Monsieur, les citrons, c'est mon specialité! Merde des chein d'Anglais! Pffft!

messyman and myself would also like to say how nice it was to put faces to names, we had a great time.

not heard anything from the person who is wanting to set up splosh thing in York, will speak to messyman and see if he has heard anything and let you know.

The York thing was discussed, but the general consensus was it's unlikely to get anywhere simply because there won't be the market for it. The Splosh scene is very small, compared to say the BDSM scene (where commercial dungeons do operate successfully).

I have to agree with Dm here, getting people to turn up for sessions can be quite hard at times, even when its free. People seem to have a problem getting over their nerves. Saying that though with the help of Wamdrogony board and Splosh. We seem to be making quite a few friends who are active as it where.

Hi folks,

Sorry I've not been around since Xmas but hideously busy with work (still am) so haven't had time to 'come out and play'.

Just found out that you've had this meeting. Sorry I missed out on that but you know how it is. Glad to see it went well.

Come to think of it, we should be having the next Warrington meet in April (21st I think). Might meet up with some of you again there if I can get my act together re: work.

Hope you're all well.

Regards,
C_W
