Leeds Splunch - official release

Chat, flirt and fantasise about everything wet and messy

Postby TottyMcGee » 02 Mar 2007, 20:09

Hell yeah, no to smiley heads, nor Attack Of The Saucer People guassian blurs, black hole circles or masking tape eyes (out of interest, does anyone seriously believe covering the eyes in a photograph renders the subject unrecognisable?). Either people take part in the photo or don't, not least because I can't be doing with taking down notes on who wants to be disguised followed by photoshop effort turning the photo to crap.

Get a load of this bunch of merry weirdos;

Image

Seriously though, it was a blast! I won't name everybody right now because I'll only bugger it up (maybe Andy can do the honours in that respect) but many thanks to everyone who made the journey and helped make the day such a success. Over the course of the afternoon we had about 15-16 people show up with seven of us going on for a lovely French meal afterwards (thanks to Alicia for leading the way on that one), thanks also to Blayd's Bar for having us and providing such a good venue and DungeonMasterOne and Lady Jasmine for providing a fantastic selection of cakes and sweeties for the mini-buffet.

Here's looking forward to the next time we all get together, whenever and wherever that may be. There've been a few ideas tossed about with regards to that, but we'll save that for another thread. :)

Even more sorry that I couldn't make it! Mind you, it looks like I'd have been the most tastelessly dressed person there!

Look forward to the stories from the day and ideas for the future.

You were missed Bill, but thanks to all there,i thoroughly enjoyed it and it was nice to meet different people,The venue was just great, wish there was something like this available for the London meets. Just a shame i had to leave at 7.30pm to get the train back and missed the meal, sounds good.
Looking forward to the next one!!Many thanks Miss Helen for organising it.

I have returned, what a blast yesterday afternoon was, the actually place is ideal for holding a meet, we where all chatting about gunge, etc. Mike was relaying some of the old Aquantics story's they sounded well funny.

The bar could be a tad hard to find, but once you know where you are going it is ideal. (Nice one Miss Helen that is a gem of a venue.)

It was nice to meet new faces, Dm, Lady Jasmine (who is even more stunning than in the pictures!!) Dids, (had a blast chatting about shoots and venues etc.)

Alicia Bonde, mananged to make it, which was really nice (thanks for the phone call friday night, it worked out just fine,) James was their who I've not seen since Novemember and Wamadeus made it as well. (Caught me out with pop trivia questions as well.) It was great to See Lou and Mandy again. Also got to meet Messyman and Messymature who are also a great couple.

Then we moved on to the Restaurant (a french find by Alicia), had background music very similar to 'Alo Alo' good meal though. At this point Mike was on fire with some of his story's. I spent most of the evening laughing.... (thanks for making the effort to travel Mike.)

I would deffo go again, as its slightly diffrent from umd meet, it has more of a party to it, than a meet.

Going now to recover will try and name all in the photo in a min.

regards

Andy

Hi All.

Had a really great time on Saturday. Apologies for my ugly mug not being in the photo but I had a "Mark Thatcher moment" ( those alive in the 80s will know what I mean) trying to find the pub. Thanks to James for venturing out onto the steets of Leeds to find me. Sorry to those who I missed, hope to see you sometime in the future. Those who couldn't make it were also missed. Bill always lights up any event he attends and the memory of DD sitting on my knee at a previous meet will stay with me forever.

It was great to see Dids and Andy again ( those disastermind questions coming soon  ) - both are utterly hilarious - as well as those I hadn't met before. Mike's tales of his adventures were a wonder to behold and and I ended up talking about heavy metal Dvorak  with DM and Lady Jasmine. Alicia was a sweety and Mr N really enjoys his Guinness.

By the way Mike, they did charge 45p for the slice of lemon in your Martini at that French restaurant. I checked the bill in my wallet when I got back to the hotel. After the cock up over my food ( why does this always happen to me  ) anything is possible I suppose.

Finally , I can reassure Bill that he would not have been the most tastelessly dressed person there, as anyone who saw my tshirt will testify.

Piss up on the toon, Sat 14th April 2007. Be there or be square.
