Short for a “sploshers’ munch”. We could have called it a Wunch (wammers’ munch) but like splunch better, evoking as it does the sound of a large, sloppy pie landing squarely on the face.
I though a wunch was a collective noun for financiers. Haven't you heard of a wunch of bankers?

Mike.

Still hoping to be there and DD and I were talking about it only last night.
How many of you are dressing up in some form? Are you changing there or coming in character? Sorry to sound so unspontaneous but that's middle age for you.

I'm going to do this one as Miss Helen. I'll probably arrive already dressed, but if anyone does want to change there there's a suitable place to do so.
I'd like to encourage anyone to dress up who'd like to, I want this meet to have a party feel about it. I'm going to take along some music and a few nibbly things too - I'm even thinking of making one of my (in)famous black beer pizzas to take along!
