emulsion paint
I often use watered-down emulsion because of the texture and look of it. However it is a bit of a pain to wash out of hair (which is why I now only use it after having a haircut) and you need to make sure it's thin enough not to clog up the plumbing.

Well-mixed clay actually has the feel and look of paint but, for those who want to wash it out, it does clean up very easily. You have to water it down a bit and mix it really thoroughly and you can get a consistency that is either thicker or thinner than conventional emulsion. Feels gorgeous!
