You might be able to get round the course too, Andy.. here's what the FAQ has to say on the site;

Will I be able to complete the course?
Yes! Challenge Valley can be completed by anyone over the age of eight years. It is suitable for all ages and abilities and it's not a race! If you're in a group everyone helps everyone else. We've had all kind of groups in amongst the mud, from wheelchair users, deaf children, blind adults, people with learning difficulties...we've even had a 80 year old granny who loved it!! So even if the most exercise you do is picking up the remote control to watch Eastenders this is for you!!

PM me in UMD, I posted a lovely post about Bill today and it vanished???

Odd?

I stand by me post!

Bill was a pioneer! A man waming in a dress in the 80s, an absolute pioneer, even if it was just for fun!

Joke, god, just chill out!

Seriously though, I was thinking about doing a wam day over the summer just gone! Meet in the afternoon in Weston Super Mare, that is where we do some of our mud shoots, watch us do our shoots, then after our girls have finished, everyone goes in and plays, talk about perfect, there is a shower on the beach to wash off afterwards and loads of pubs along the sea front!
Good location, close to two motorways M4 and M5, with good rail links!

Here's the bad news, I'm planning to be travelling next summer! I won't be around! Perhaps if anyones interested though, Dave and Claire can arrange something?

Thanks

(waiting for this post to vanish?)

Hi

We took Leon's post about us off cos it was just TOO nice! Very pleasant to get but not sure everyone wants to read it. See, there's no pleasing us!

As for this thread...what started as a humble meet in the pub (albeit a meet that lets people dress as they wish) has now become a full scale event! Leon is the events expert (we're only expert at going to the pub!) so that is probably best left to him and my guess is nothing like that would happen till the warmer weather. If on the other hand a few of you just want to get together for a drink (with the slight possibility of doing something in the studio) dressed how you fancy then that's more our league.

Let us know which you would rather do.

Hayley (standing in for Bill cos he's editing all day today - and thoroughly pissed off abut it)

Like the mud idea from Leon, Hayley's idea and also the studio in Manchester idea from Helen a lot too.

Would be up for helping out if you want guys.

Enuff talk and aruging - let get something sorted as talk is cheap and as proven with past topics, opens up boxes that them sometimes can't be closed!!.

Yes, we are looking at next summer for anything active, drinky meets are needed in the meantime to help set these up and tide us through the cruel winter.

If Leeds is considered accessible, I can think of at least one good venue - it's the same pub that the Leeds BDSM munch is held at, so they're kink friendly. It's tucked away on a back street near the train station, there's an upstairs room where the munch takes place so everyone who walks in there is understood to be there munching, with the meet often spreading downstairs as niccotine addicts head there for a smoke. I don't know the details of booking the place, but I can find out next time I'm in town.

I happen to know that Leeds has a good splosher population, both closeted and otherwise, aside from myself it's also home to DungeonmasterOne and the Gungemaster girls, who may be up for making an appearance.

I have absolutely no idea how to organise this sort of event!?
Its outside my box!

What i was talking about almost happened over the summer, but, in the end I was way to busy! You are also right, it would require waiting for the warmer weather!

So the pub idea sounds best right now!

I know this stretch of beach well, for a while I was near their it could be used for an outdoor session next year, we need to sort hotels out etc nr the time.

James would be the man to ask about hotels etc, he's a dab hand for pointing in the right direction for the London get togethers, and yes you could wear what you like.

As Miss Helen states it would be nr summer though cos of the weather, I can also do outdoor events in the north west myself and Miss Helen have found some good spots this year.

Thanks Helen this would also be a good idea for everybody getting together next year, we all know we end up rolling round in it, would be a damn fine laugh though.

Hi all,

I've been offline for a couple of weeks - too much work (boo, hiss!). Probably just as well as I managed to miss the 'storms' here!

Could I make a constructive suggestion regarding pub meets etc? In the original, original post-meet feedback thread, the problem of noise and crowding was aired. This had been suspected as a likely problem on Saturday evening (no matter which venue you choose), when sorting the Warrington meeting. It was for this reason that meetings brought up on the auto calendars of the UK Regional WAM Groups are set-up to show timings for meetings starting just after lunch.

We did this in Warrington and it was fine. The pub was quiet with plenty of space until about 7.30. After that, they turned the music right up, the lights right down and the place filled up. Those of us who were left used it as our cue to leave. Having been there since lunchtime, we'd had an excellent meeting and the timing meant that those travelling a reasonable distance had the opportunity to get there and home again at a sensible time.

Could I recommend it to you as a possibility - it certainly worked for us! Start at 2. Finish by 7.30. (You've also then got the opportunity to go and do whatever you normally like to do on a Saturday evening, too!)

Kind regards to all,
C_W
