Mud wrestling in the UK?

Postby Roger » 21 May 2006, 16:35

Does anybody know of any pubs or clubs in the UK which regularly hold mud wrestling or other WAM related events?

Last time we investigated this we found that many councils insisted mud wrestling only be held in private members clubs. A few pubs got round this by using a back room and making people members for a night but since few pubs have showers etc, it is still not the easiest thing to stage.

Many hundreds of years ago, Bill was involved with a couple of live shows that had this problem (he will bore you about it, I'm sure, if he ever wakes up). Both mud wrestling shows and gunge tanks are still hirable (though there are some unscrupulous bastards about, apparently) but quite how everyone gets clean in a club, I've no idea.

A few years back, Blackpool had a pub that did shows including mud wrestling, but we would appreciate more recent info from anyone who has it.

Yep gungeslut is right we looked at hiring people in too hold messy events and they either tried to rip us off or they where sh** so guess what we up'd and did it ourselves, plus its a lot more fun I remeber once going round Bolton Flanning peeps on Saturday afternoon some where alright some where just boring sods. I have a video somewhere of the Phantom doing a bungy jump in Westhoughton up the road from me. Then trying to flan the crowd, fell right on his arse due to the bungy jump..

I went down to Nottingham a few years back to do a mudwrestling audition for the folk who ran the Blackpool events. Didn't get the job, but had a good messy evening all the same, got two bouts, one with a very nice young lady who's name I've sadly forgotten who I let throw me around all over, then got put in with a big fat bloke who sat on me.
Their solution to the clean-up problem was a garden spray hose set up on the fire escape steps outside. Freezing cold as you can imagine, but better than nowt and there's always the option of taking along a big bag of sacrificial towels.

So is this some sort of pagan ritual for the banishing of all things messy that they use in that part of the country? :)
Kind regards, Spinynorman and Frilly

Still messing about after all these years!

Bill will tell you a story of how he MC-ed a mud wrestling gig upstairs at The Clarendon in Hammersmith (a big rock pub). They tried to clean the girls up by buying half a dozen tea urns to heat the water up! Unforunately the water leaked through the floor and fused the whole pub.

Have been to foam nights where everyone has got in cabs soaking wet and foamy - much to the cabby's delight!

I'd love to try out a mud wrestling contest! I think it would be great fun, I would like to wrestle with DD but I think she would win! She would just pin me down with her very large breasts!

Clare,

I'd love to wrestle with you AND DD. I know that her big breasts and your wild hands would probably beat me, but I'd have a heck of time fighting back!!!
