The London meet result.

Chat, flirt and fantasise about everything wet and messy

Hi

I can't believe you missed Chantelle and Mercedes - you've seen their pictures often enough! Must be the absence of mud. I feel sorry for Stonecastle. To make the effort to go, get so close but not meet up is very sad. Wonder how many others missed you in that way? I don't think the A to Z is a good enough form of recognition. Apart from Splosh! teeshirts (naturally) you clearly need something that stands out more if you are going to meet in large city centre pubs (and no I don't mean DD's chest). As I think Bill mentioned, we have met up in a pub near Charing Cross that has a little room upstairs which I'm sure they might let you have for free (as it's just another room). Perhaps talking to them might be worthwhile. As for weekend meets - there is a difference between Saturday in the West End at the height of the Christmas shopping period and an ordinary Saturday!

Sorry, sounds like I'm griping. I'm not. I'm glad the ones that did successfully recognise one another had a good time, just sorry for the ones that didn't.

Easy, it also may have been a twist of fate as well at about 6:50 ish I told the rest of the group that Cedes and Chants where not planning to attend as they had other commitments after shopping, I also stated at this point that they send their regards as per the pm from Cedes on Friday night.

At this point most people would have stopped looking for them.

Now as we know Easy nipped off to see the end of the Gunners match 3 -1 my friend!! Chelsea v united 1 -1 so Easy would not be aware of the information i gave out.

That i do agree with lol - could hardly hear what you guys were saying lol.

Yes i couldn't make it for this one (think it's only the 2nd time i've missed the forum meets) due to me sorting out my rave the night before (which went v.well i may add :D).

Really wanted to come too - but my body wasn't having it after the night before hahaha.

Sounds like it was the right now to miss to as it sounds like you guys had a mare with the venue.

Hey Sploshman,

Yeah the first venue was trial and error, somebody has to try it though our we will never know. The phone call was a bit bonkers but funny though, glad your gig went ok.

Its a case of try and try again, we as the events grow we need to try diffrent locations, life is an adenvture!!!

You should come next time we never know what will happen.

No way!!!

I've just read on the other channel their was Sandra and her other half in the pub as well!! stood at the bar looking at us whilst going on the net trying to get pics to identify us so they could come over and say hello.

They even say Driversoft walked past them when going to the bar. God knows why they didn't say hi to him..... it could possibly been nerves.

I feel flattered that people came in the pub to watch us have a drink, its like the live version of Splosh.

The group is also available for superstore opening, weddings, christenings and other general drinking duties.

What a bizarre event its turned out to be, told you its andventure.

For some reason Haley locked the other post?

I don't think it was degenerating into a flame war??? It was actually a fairly rational post, discussing and sorting out some issues! Its a shame it got locked before its conclusion as the issues are still open and not sorted!

Anyways I will continue here!

PLEASE everybody, dont use this to start another flame war, its all history and things in question at the time were resolved as i clearly stated so forget it.

My point was solely based on my own personal opinion that both Bill and Hayley were not being critical but saying things jokingly.

Perhaps Leon has got a very good point and perhaps maybe the jokes side of things are getting old hat now, but lets face it we all bring things up whenever we are out or talking with friends, sometimes events that happened years in the past.

My main concern was what other people have said, they went and couldnt find the group. Chantelle has never ever been to any meetup before and doesnt know anybody,Mercedes has only been to one. Neither of them decided to go untill they had finished their shopping which was their main reason for being in London that day, Cede even had Andy's number given her, but silly moo left it at home.Neither of them wanted to wander around a strange pub laden with shopping bags.I think i am correct in saying the other people who failed to meet up were also first-timers, so there does appear to be a problem maybe, i believe also this happened at several other meets.

I wouldnt have been able to help as i am stuck up in Nottinghamshire

I would personally think that if it was arranged in a private meeting room why would there be any problems with any type of dress? Come as you would do your wam or whatever, by this i mean dress as Cede does, if you are a crossdresser etc only the group would see you, i would imagine there would be somewhere people could change if it was easier for them that way.

I would really like to think that at the end of the day everybody who attends is involved or has the wam fetish and thats what its all about, honestly, think about it, it is a fetish through and through, many people would, and probably do think we are mad, but how can we as fetishers discrimminate against another fetish equally enjoyed by a fellow wammer.

This may have sidetracked slightly but hopefully may lead to a little more discussion .
BUT I DO WANT THIS TO DEVELOPE INTO ANY MORE FLAMING, BLAMING OR CRITICISM. LETS BE CONSTRUCTIVE.

I agree with what Sotonude has said about Venue's they can be hard to find, I agree the numbers going now have outgrown the Original 3 Greyhounds and the pub used at the Summer meet was crowded.

This is going to be a problem in London especially in the heart of the West End and Soho and Theatre land on the doorstep, i would imagine it would be worse on a Saturday as well as people tend to go out more at weekends not having to work on the Sunday (by this i mean the Lucky ones ) A pub which might be quiet midweek when inspected for a meet might well seem suitable but on a Saturday "Yuck"

Lets concentrate on issues like this and recognition of each other thats far more important than squabbling.

I like Leons suggestion about Gunge Tanks but somehow a little something inside me tells me that i dont think it would be allowed however much wished for

dids

I couldn't agree more, I don't want this to degenerate into a flame war either!
But I do want this to be resolved this time!

The problem with a private room, particularly in central London, is that is will cost money! To organise things in a private venue and to have the whole place to yourself, you have to hire the room! As numbers can vary and no one can be sure how many people will turn up, who is to pay for the room??? I guess this will be something for you guys to sort out when you organise your non-vanilla meets. Do you hire a room or make the non-vanilla meets in a public location?

HOW are we as fetishist descriminating against other fetishes? That is kind of the point! There is no descrimination against Mercedes, nor towards CDs. It is an accross the board, blanket vanilla rule! This is in fact why it has been applied to everyone!

The best way to deal with this is to accept the rules of the current meets, but, work WITH the organisers, try to arrange a non-vanilla meet! One where people can wear whatever they want and shout around the room "Are We Wammers Or What?" at full volume! Be proud, I agree, it goes back to what I said in my last post though!

I am free to express and represent myself however I deem sutable, it is NOT my right to express and represent a group of people in a public place!

You already have the backing of several big wam names now, Yourself, Chantelle, Mercedes, Bill, Hayley and myself! We all back the idea of non-vanilla meets, so now its time to organise one! I'm sure we'll all attend!

Waiting for this post to be locked or me to be banned, only kidding Hayley, look forward to seeing you at the non-vanilla meet!

There's no reason why the thread should be locked or you should be banned, Leon.

You're making a perfectly valid point in a non-agressive way.

The whole dress code arguement went round in circles until it was established that not everyone could agree. A great solution was presented - the people who want a more open and flamboyant meet should organise one.

That was settled and should have stayed settled. It's just plain childish for those who don't agree with the meet organisers descision for vanilla dresscode, to be constantly making snipey jibes.

It was good of Hayley to apologise for the offence caused.

Anyway - surely the problem of a suitable venue for a non-vanilla meet is already solved? St. Leonards! Bill's local pub welcomes all comers, and then there's the Splosh studios for anyone who wants to arrange a messy session while they're down there.

This time i must agree with Leon 100%. I was surprised as well Hayley locked the other thread as i believe it was getting constructive which is what we need.

It is a shame about the "ps" Hayley added regards the place at Charing Cross as that would have been worth looking into especially at it is not far from the West End and also has excellent travel connections, but thats life. :(

Another place inCamden Town has been mentioned that several members of this board appear to have personal knowledge of, however i personally have never even heard of it. From looking back on that thread it would appear it could get a bit noisy etc especially at weekends albiet there is complete acceptability regards non-vanilla dress. Can anybody give some more detailed info about this place and whether it could be considered?

Leon is correct as to having a private room, unless we found a very condescending landlord  it is gonna cost money, which would have to be paid upfront at booking no doubt, as at any meetup no-one really knows who is going till the meet itself when people turn up. This could leave whoever is organising it out of pocket, plus would there be a willingness in the first place for people to contribute towards a private venue?

To organise a meet of a non-vanilla approach i am starting to think will be difficult to say the least, although i would love one to happen.

Bill and Hayley have in the past on these forums suggested that their own local pub is more than willing to hold this type of meet as it would sound to be quite an outrageous kinda pub anyway at times

If maybe Bill or Hayley were willing to ask the landlord if this type of meet could happen down there would anybody be willing to travel to sunny St. Leonards right down on the South Coast?

There are going to be loads of things to sort out so IF anybody is interested lets get some feedback and ideas, who would go? etc. I think we need to get some idea of possible numbers before anything else.

Right , thread now Open to suggestions etc. AND NO FLAMING OR BITCHING.

Actually Dids, there is one time when a member of the public got slightly embarrest(sp) at one of our shoots! Sorry, but the truth is out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4_44vLcjYs

Now, I have to point out that we did close the pavement here and we had girls telling people to wait a couple of minutes for us to do the shoot! Unfortunatly the guy in this clip was not English and didn't understand the girls warnings!

Anyways, it is only shaving foam and came off with very little effort and the guy was amused in the end!

  Leon u have made my day, I am still laughing at this clip, I honestly dont know how you lot get away with it without being surrounded by the local cops   Absolutely Brilliant :P

You lot are great as it certainly takes guts to do this so publically.

Its even more funnier to me as i have only in the past few weeks been off crutches myself due to my leg injury.

Just my luck nothing like that happened to me :(

Can u imagine what would happen if this was tried in London's Oxford Street for example. we'd all spend the night in the cells no doubt

I have no objection whatsoever to constructive discussion of what to do about future meets. That was our aim in the first place. Unfortunately a genuine attempt at humour was not seen that way by some people so I thought it best that we start again from scratch. Hence moving it to here where that element of the thread could be forgotten.

Hayley

PS Nobody has ever suggested anyone shoud be banned or posts removed. However, we retain the right to keep this a humourous forum and when a funny situation arises (and encouraging newcomers by dressing conventionally and then them not finding the meeting cos the members merged in too well IS funny) we shall continue to comment on it.

Thanks for the clip Leon, had me laughing that one, at least i am not alone with the bloopers!! Miss Helen is star when shooting outdoors nothing stops her.

Thanks for the comments on the travelling Dids, Wamadeus does put some miles in, really nice person. However the award must go to Dolly for travelling she is a star *blows kisses at Dolly!!*

Yes the train network is easier for people in London, though I do agree with Jonny go anywhere in a car is a nightmare. So I do it all on foot, its easier that way.
